Method and device for controlling a press based on wedge drive tool spring condition
A method for monitoring and assessing correct position P.sub.i of a work slide of a wedge drive tool in a press, without a position sensor. The slide of the wedge drive tool is actuated from an end position (X.sub.E) back to the starting position (X.sub.A) of the slide by a spring. The spring is arranged in the wedge drive tool. The press is opened from a lower press position to an upper press position while a slide bed of the wedge drive tool is relieved. The position of the slide is indirectly detected in that at least the restoring force of the spring is detected and evaluated.

PELLET MILL ROLL TEMPERATURE SENSING
A roll assembly temperature sensing system for a pellet mill includes: a thermal sensor (160); and a pellet mill roll assembly rotatably disposed in a rotor assembly. The pellet mill roll (140) assembly includes: a roll shaft; a bearing disposed circumferentially around the roll shaft; and a seal (150) disposed between an end of the bearing and the rotor assembly. The rotor assembly includes an area defining a die cavity adjacent to the seal (150). The thermal sensor (160) is disposed within the die cavity, and is configured to detect a temperature of the seal resulting from heat conducted from the bearing.
PRESS MACHINE AND METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING ABNORMALITY PRESS MACHINE
A press machine includes: a press control unit that controls ascending/descending motion of the slide; and an abnormality diagnostic unit configured to perform abnormality diagnosis of the press machine based on data from a sensor provided in the press machine and to output a result of the abnormality diagnosis. The abnormality diagnostic unit is configured to perform the abnormality diagnosis, based on the data acquired from the sensor while the slide moves at a predetermined speed between a bottom dead point and a top dead point in a press-no-load state.

Apparatus and method for detecting failure in a mechanical press
A semiconductor device is located between a first die-set part and a second die-set part of a press, and the first and second die-set parts are moved relative to each other for punching and shaping the semiconductor device therebetween. At least one parameter is monitored with at least one sensor attached to the first die-set part and/or the second die-set part at different positions of the first die-set part when it is moving relative to the second die-set part. Variations of the at least one parameter at different relative positions of the first and second die-set parts are compared, and a failure is determined to have occurred when the present variation of the parameter is different from its expected variation during normal operation of the press when there is no failure.
Control facility for a DC link converter and DC link converter
A control facility for a DC link converter includes a power regulator, which determines, based on an actual power determined at least partially at the feed converter, a power-based desired moment component for a kinetic energy store. The invention also relates to a DC link converter controlled by the control facility and to a forming machine, such as a press, with a DC link converter controlled by the control facility.
Systems and methods for controlling manufacturing processes
In one embodiment, a method for controlling a manufacturing process can include obstructing a part receiving path of a press station with a part detection fixture. The part detection fixture can include a moveable contact member and a target body that moves in response to motion of the moveable contact member. The moveable contact member of the part detection fixture can obstruct the part receiving path such that the target body of the part detection fixture is positioned in a dissenting state. The target body of the part detection fixture can be positioned in an assenting state coincident with contact between the moveable contact member of the part detection fixture and the workpiece. Image data of the target body of the part detection fixture can be detected with a vision system. The press station can be actuated when the image data is indicative of the assenting state.
PRESS MACHINE
A drive unit drives a slide which vertically reciprocates for pressing the workpiece. A detection unit detects positional information about the slide. A speed control unit controls the speed of the slide by the drive unit, based on motion information defining operation of the slide. A stoppage determination calculation unit sets a deceleration start point at which deceleration of the slide is to be started, based on the motion information and a set point at which the slide is to be forced to stop. A speed control unit determines whether an abnormality signal regarding transportation of the workpiece is input, when the slide reaches the deceleration start point based on the positional information about the slide detected by the detection unit. The speed control unit performs deceleration control for the slide so that the slide is stopped at the set point, when determining that the abnormality signal is input.
PRESS MACHINE EXECUTION SYSTEM
A press machine is provided. Two vertical hydraulic cylinders are arranged on an upper beam plate of a press machine body, and the two hydraulic cylinders correspond to workbenches at corresponding positions in a one-to-one correspondence, constituting left and right working units, and a common mechanical drive unit and a common hydraulic drive unit are set for the left and right working units. The mechanical driving unit is composed of a driving motor through an electromagnetic clutch, an electromagnetic brake and lead screw nut driving mechanism driven by a gear pair. According to the load profiles during the working process of hydraulic press machine, the mechanical driving unit or the hydraulic driving unit are selected to provide energy for the two working units. A control method for the press machine, a press machine execution system and a control method for the press machine execution system are further involved.
