Method of making a preassembled display with automatic stackable supports

A method of making a preassembled display with automatic stackable supports (PDASS) is described. A PDASS may include two or more blanks (for example pieces of corrugated paperboard) that are joined together, for example to initially form a knocked down flat (KDF). The PDASS may include an insert formed from a single blank, where the single insert blank, when the whole display is erected, automatically erects and provides asymmetric supports that form at opposing corners of the outer blank.

Sheet packaging matertial for producing a sealed package containing a pourable product and a package obtained therefrom

A sheet packaging material for producing a sealed package comprises two first boundary edges parallel to a longitudinal direction and two second boundary edges parallel to a transversal direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction. The sheet packaging material includes at least a bottom transversal crease line including a bottom central portion, a bottom end portion and a bottom side portion. The sheet packaging material includes a pair of slanted crease lines inclined relative to both the longitudinal and transverse directions. The slanted crease lines have first ends pointing to one of the second boundary edges and second ends pointing to a continuous line parallel to the transversal direction and including the bottom central portion and the bottom end portion. The slanted crease lines delimit, with the bottom side portion, a flap area of the sheet packaging material designed to form at least part of a lateral flap of the package.

Packaging machine infeed, separation, and creasing mechanisms

A machine for forming packing templates includes a infeed mechanism that can feed multiple feeds of sheet material into the machine without repositioning the infeed mechanism or forming creases or bends in the sheet material. The machine also includes a separation and cutting systems with one or more cutting tables and biased knives that cut the sheet material packaging templates. The machine also includes creasing roller(s) that forms creases in the sheet material. The machine also includes a system for reducing or eliminating the impact of irregularities in the sheet material.

A gluing device has a sheet guide for guiding a corrugated fiberboard; a basal part having a fixed relative position with respect to the sheet guide; a support part moveable with respect to the basal part; a glue gun for contacting and applying glue to a glued portion within a seam margin at a side edge of a corrugated fiberboard passing through the sheet guide; a first energizing mechanism for energizing the support part towards the sheet guide; a second energizing mechanism for energizing the support part away from the sheet guide; and a position adjustment mechanism arranged between the first energizing mechanism and the basal part, for steples sly adjusting the position of the support part in a direction lying in the direction of the force exerted by the first energizing mechanism, and adjusting the gap between the glue gun and the sheet guide.

Method and apparatus for deep-drawing a tray from sheet material

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for deep-drawing a tray (1) from a blank of sheet material (2). The blank is provided with score lines, which determine the location of wrinkles formed in the process. The apparatus comprises a female moulding tool (3), which comprises a cavity (7) for forming the tray bottom outwardly, a male moulding tool (4), which comprises a plunger (11) for forming the tray bottom inwardly, the plunger being movable with respect to the cavity for forming the tray, and clamps (6, 15) with an interface for holding the sheet material and forming a tray rim flange. According to the invention by laterally distancing at least one of the moulding tools (3, 4) from the sheet material leeway is pro-vided for free forming so that wrinkling of the tray side walls is achieved in a controlled manner. Spacer plates (13) may be positioned behind the plunger (11), to adjust its position in relation to the cavity (7) of the female moulding tool (3). The cavity may have a separate bottom plate (8) and spacer plates (9) therebelow, or screw means may be provided for adjusting the distance of the bottom of the cavity from the clamp interface and thereby varying the depth of the tray.

Converting machine with fold sensing mechanism

A converting machine is used to convert sheet material into packaging templates for assembly into boxes or other packaging. The converting machine includes a converting assembly that performs transverse conversion functions and longitudinal conversion functions on the sheet material to create the packaging templates. A fanfold crease sensing mechanism detects the presence and location of fanfold creases in the sheet material. Based on the location of the fanfold creases, the fanfold creases are either cut out of the sheet material, or the sheet material is cut to adjust the position of the fanfold crease in a packaging template.

A Package

A package is provided, comprising a packaging material having a bulk layer and being formed into a three-dimensional container by folding the packaging material along predefined crease lines thus forming a fracture along the crease lines. The package comprises a plurality of corners, wherein at least one of the corners is arranged at an area of the packaging material in which two or more crease lines intersect.

Dieboard padding

Applying padding material around shaped cutting blades includes: receiving a blade shape diagram and a rule of blade; bending the rule of blade according to the blade shape diagram to produce the shaped cutting blades; and applying the padding material around the shaped cutting blades using the blade shape diagram to produce a padded shaped cutting blade, wherein the padding material provides a spring action to quickly detach the shaped cutting blades from a plate matter.

Method of converting sheet material into a custom packaging template

Systems, methods, and apparatus for converting a sheet material into packaging templates can include a converting machine that performs conversion functions, such as cutting, creasing, and scoring, on the sheet material. Items to be packed into boxes formed of the packaging templates can be used as the pattern for determining the location of performance of the conversion functions on the sheet material. Accordingly, no intermediate measuring of the items may be required prior to performance of the conversion functions. Instead, longheads can be positioned adjacent to opposing sides of the items and cross heads can be advanced inward to the positioned longheads.
