Method For Forming A Label Web
20220238046 · 2022-07-28 ·

A label web and method utilize a substrate, first and second longitudinally spaced label arrays each including two or more double-sided adhesive labels removably attached to the substrate, and a peelable protective covering web extending generally coextensive with the substrate. The label arrays and the peelable protective web are configured such that the peelable protective web is selectively removable to expose the first label array while remaining removably attached to the second label array, with both the first and second label arrays remaining removably attached to the substrate, to thereby facilitate removal of all labels in the first label array as a group while the peelable protective covering web remains in place over the second label array.

Variable printed UV curable adhesive retail signs

An adhesive sign suited to use in retail applications includes a substrate layer. An adhesive layer is disposed on the substrate layer. The adhesive layer defines an exposed region for attachment to an associated structure. The adhesive layer is derived from a photo-curable inkjet composition. An ink layer is disposed on the substrate layer. The ink layer includes an image. The ink layer is derived from a photo-curable inkjet composition. The adhesive layer and ink layer can be formed in the same inkjet printing process and cured in a common photo-curing station. A stack of the adhesive signs can be assembled without interleaving a release liner between each pair of signs.

RFID TAG MANUFACTURING SYSTEM

An RFID tag manufacturing system is provided that includes a conveyance device that conveys a base sheet provided with a plurality of antenna patterns to each of which an RFIC module is fixed. The system includes a laminating device that attaches a cover seal on the base sheet to cover the antenna patterns and a punching device that produces RFID tags by punching the cover seal and the base sheet with a punching blade that includes a frame-shaped cutting edge surrounding the antenna patterns to form a frame-shaped cut. The base sheet includes alignment mark in a non-attachment part of the cover seal. The punching device specifies the position of each of the antenna patterns covered with the cover seal based on the alignment mark, and punches the cover seal and the base sheet based on the specified position of the antenna pattern.

A liner in a label-liner combination is provided with a die cut portion made in the liner. The die cut portion is aligned with at least one edge in a label and a front side of the liner is attached to a backside of the label. The die cut portion of the liner is adapted to be removed from the liner when the label is removed from the label-liner combination. Dimensions, and orientation, and a location of the die cut portion in the liner are adapted to allow the label to be removed from the label-liner combination and applied to a surface by digits of a hand without touching an adhesive coating on the backside of the label and adapted to maintain proper printer waste liner spool operations when the liner is wound after application of the label.

Cutting of adhesive materials with water-soluble protective layer

A pre-assembled kit of cut shapes disposed upon a peelable or repositionable adhesive by means of an affixing adhesive protected by a water-soluble coating which is solubilised either prior to and/or on application of the kit to a surface which may be moistened prior to application. When the water-soluble coating is solubilised, in whole or in part, by placing in contact with the moistened surface, it will expose and/or activate, in whole or in part, the pressure-sensitive adhesive beneath the water-soluble coating to the surface to which it is to be applied and the pre-assembled kit will become affixed to the surface. Alternatively, solubilisation of the water-soluble coating may be provided by applying water, preferably warm water, to the water-soluble coating prior to applying the pre-assembled kit to the surface. A method of producing the pre-assembled kit of cut shapes is provided. In preferred embodiments the protective water-soluble coating is substantially a formulation of poly-vinyl alcohol or polyurethane polymers.
