Gutter centered die-cut for improved separation of adhesive signage
A process for cutting column and row gutters on multilayer signage media into individualized signage cards includes placing pre-die-cut slits at predetermined locations within the column gutters to assist a cutter in cutting completely through the multilayer signage media.
JIG PROVIDING ACCURATE POSITIONAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN UPPER AND LOWER LABELS FOR STICKING THE LABELS TO EACH OTHER
A jig for sticking a first sheet superposed on a second sheet to the second sheet in a thickness direction of the first and second sheets includes a first regulating portion, a second regulating portion, and a nipper. The first regulating portion regulates a position of the first sheet superposed on the second sheet to be aligned with a position of the second sheet in a first direction perpendicular to the thickness direction. The second regulating portion regulates a position of the first sheet superposed on the second sheet to be aligned with a position of the second sheet in a second direction perpendicular to the thickness direction and the first direction. The nipper nips the first sheet and the second sheet superposed and aligned with each other in the thickness direction such that at least a part of a peripheral portion of the first sheet is exposed.
ANTI-SPOILAGE FRESHNESS PRESERVATION FORMULATION AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
The present disclosure generally relates to an anti-spoiling, freshness-preserving formulation comprising ionized salt, method for making ionized salt for extending shelf life of fruit and the like. The method comprises treating a refine salt to form a salt crystal, diluting the salt crystal in a bath of essential oil to from a salt melt, ionizing the salt melt to form ionized salt and locking the ionized salt in a solid state.
METHOD OF DIE CUTTING A LABEL
A die cutting method that cuts patterns in a label is provided. According an embodiment, a method adjusts temperature of a label sheet comprising a laminated layer and a liner layer. The method further separates the laminated layer from the liner layer prior to making the cuts on the laminated layer. The method further cuts one or more patterns on the laminated layer. The method further re-attaches, the laminated layer to the liner layer.
HEAT-SHRINKABLE FILM, HEAT SHRINK LABEL, AND PACKAGE
The invention provides a heat-shrinkable film that has (1) a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 90-140 C.; (2) shrinkage of 12% or less in a main shrinkage direction when treated in glycerin at 80 C. for 10 seconds; (3) shrinkage of 12% or less in a direction orthogonal to the main shrinkage direction when treated in glycerin at 140 C. for 10 seconds; (4) shrinkage of 30%-80% in the main shrinkage direction when treated in glycerin at 140 C. for 10 seconds; (5) a tensile elongation at break of 10% or more both in the main shrinkage direction and the orthogonal direction after aging of 672 hours at 50 C. and 70% RH; and (6) a difference of 5% or less between shrinkage at 140 C. in the main shrinkage direction after aging of 672 hours at 50 C. and 70% RH, and shrinkage at 140 C. in the main shrinkage direction before the aging.
Printing apparatus for printing on labels on roll paper and method for detecting number of remaining labels on roll paper
In a printing apparatus for performing printing on labels of roll paper formed by winding a label sheet with the labels peelably attached to the label sheet, a label remaining number detecting unit, during a printing operation, determines a thickness of the label sheet from a length between the labels included in the label sheet fed out from a label sheet feed-out unit to a printing unit, the length being determined by a label length detecting unit while a distance to a cylindrical outer surface of the roll paper detected by a distance sensor.
Apparatus and method for manufacturing discrete portions
An apparatus for manufacturing discrete portions (19; 119) comprises: an advancement device for advancing a flexible material (4; 102) along a path (P1); a cutting device (18) positioned along said path (P1) for cutting the flexible material (4; 102) so as to obtain a discrete portion (19; 119), the cutting device (18) comprising a laser source (20) configured to emit a laser beam (21) incident on a rear face (7; 107), opposite a printed front face (5; 105), of the flexible material (4; 102); a retaining device (22) for retaining the flexible material (4; 102) while the cutting device (18) cuts the discrete portion (19; 119) from the flexible material (4; 102).
LABEL WEB WITH LONGITUDINALLY-SPACED ARRAYS OF DOUBLE-SIDED ADHESIVE LABELS
A label web and method utilize a substrate, first and second longitudinally spaced label arrays each including two or more double-sided adhesive labels removably attached to the substrate, and a peelable protective covering web extending generally coextensive with the substrate. The label arrays and the peelable protective web are configured such that the peelable protective web is selectively removable to expose the first label array while remaining removably attached to the second label array, with both the first and second label arrays remaining removably attached to the substrate, to thereby facilitate removal of all labels in the first label array as a group while the peelable protective covering web remains in place over the second label array.
Tag mounter
A tag mounter (21) is provided for mounting a tag to an object by passing and tying a thread (23) through the object. A pipe unit (25) is configured to insert the thread (23) through it. A movement mechanism (29) is configured to move the pipe unit (25) toward a front direction and a rear direction. A gripper unit (27) is configured to grip the thread (23) inserted through the pipe unit (25) and exposed from a tip of the pipe unit (25). A driver unit (6) is configured to move the gripper unit (27) along a predetermined course. A thread tying mechanism (16) is configured to tie the thread (23) gripped by the gripper unit (27).
Labels with liner separation feature
A liner in a label-liner combination is provided with a die cut portion made in the liner. The die cut portion is aligned with at least one edge in a label and a front side of the liner is attached to a backside of the label. The die cut portion of the liner is adapted to be removed from the liner when the label is removed from the label-liner combination. Dimensions, and orientation, and a location of the die cut portion in the liner are adapted to allow the label to be removed from the label-liner combination and applied to a surface by digits of a hand without touching an adhesive coating on the backside of the label and adapted to maintain proper printer waste liner spool operations when the liner is wound after application of the label.
