APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING VERTICAL STRIPS INCLUDABLE IN A SHEER VERTICAL BLIND
20260048577 · 2026-02-19 ·

An apparatus for making vertical strips includable in a sheer vertical blind includes a support surface on which a first reel formed by a band made of flexible material and wound on itself, is unwound. The reel is gripped by a gripper at a transverse edge thereof and dragged over the support surface. A second reel made of non-woven fabric is unwound transversely over the first reel and cut to make a selvedge that is heat sealed to the first reel, after being rested on the stretch of first unwound reel. The selvedge is then cut longitudinally together with the underlying band. A strip is separated from the first reel. A pair of coupling members is rested and sealed by ultrasound on the portion of ribbon made of non-woven fabric sealed onto the strip. A method for making the vertical strips is implementable by the apparatus.

Ovenable flexible packaging structure

In one aspect, an ovenable flexible packaging structure includes a paper layer having a first major surface and a second major surface opposite the first major surface, the paper layer having a cutout defining a window. A printed ink layer is disposed on the first major surface of the paper layer and a varnish layer is disposed over the printed ink layer. A heat sealable polyester layer is disposed on the second major surface of the paper layer, the heat sealable polyester layer having a strip of perforations formed therein. The strip of perforations and the cutout are at least partially overlapping with each other. An adhesive layer intermediate the paper layer and the heat sealable polymer layer includes an adhesive for adhesively bonding the paper layer to the heat sealable polymer layer. In further aspects, packaging articles formed of the flexible packaging structures and methods for making the flexible packaging structures and packaging articles are provided.

In-line systems and in-line methods of producing lightweight reinforcing thermoplastic composite panels are described. The in-line systems and in-line method can be used to produce composite panels with smoother surfaces and enhanced properties in an automated manner. The produced composite panels can include a decorative layer that can provide an overall smoother panel surface compared to a composite panel lacking a decorative layer.

Production process for manufacture of a laminate

This invention relates to a process for the division of an individual input source log into discrete longitudinal lengths for subsequent processing. The process comprises receiving an individual input source log, dividing the input source log into one or a plurality of output log portions of a predetermined length, wherein at least a portion of said output log portions resultant from said division are of a substantially equal or substantially constant or consistent longitudinal length, and wherein said substantially equal or substantially constant or consistent longitudinal length output log portions are procured as a feed stream of log material for a subsequent processing step. This process provides for the processing of logs and subsequent assembly into an end product formed from a composite of sticks derived from said processed logs.

A label including a first strip including a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first strip includes an opaque material. The first strip further includes a first area proximate the first end. The first area includes a first length along a longitudinal axis common to the first strip. The label also includes a second strip including a third end and a fourth end opposite the third end, wherein the second strip includes a transparent material. The second strip is laminated over the first strip such that the third end is disposed outside the first area. The fourth end extends beyond the second end a distance at least equal to the first length.

Method and apparatus for producing elastic laminates

A method for producing elastic laminates includes gripping first and second continuous elastic films in respective gripping zones by respective first and second stretching members, transversely stretching the first and second continuous elastic films by rotating said first and second stretching members about respective first and second axes of rotation inclined with respect to each other, and releasing the transversely stretched first and second continuous elastic films from the respective first and second stretching members in respective release zones aligned along a common transverse release line.

WET GEL CUTTING TECHNOLOGY

The invention provides a method of cutting a wet gel sheet. The method includes positioning a wet gel sheet on a cutting support surface, so that a bottom face of the wet gel sheet is supported by the cutting support surface. The wet gel sheet is a porous material comprising solvent in at least some pores. The wet gel sheet is cut by moving a blade along a cutting path. The invention also provides an aerogel sheet formed by a process that includes the cutting method, as well as certain articles that include the cut aerogel sheet.

LOW WEIGHT MODULAR CARPET COMPONENTS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
20260062861 · 2026-03-05 ·

A low-weight carpet tile and process for making the same, wherein the carpet tile comprises a facecloth having a plurality of face yarns tufted through a primary backing, an extruded polymer secondary backing layer, and a reinforcing scrim layer partially embedded within the extruded polymer secondary backing layer. The top surface and bottom surface of the carpet tile are defined by the facecloth and the reinforcing scrim layer, respectively. A polymer-based resin is extruded onto the facecloth to form an at least substantially uniform secondary backing layer, and the reinforcing scrim layer is laid onto the extruded polymer secondary backing layer while the extruded polymer secondary backing layer remains above a softening temperature for the resin. The entire multi-layer web is then passed through a nip to embed the reinforcing scrim layer into the extruded polymer secondary layer, and the entire web is chilled.
