A laminating system includes: a sheet feeder that feeds a plurality of cut sheets; a continuous conveyor that conveys the cut sheets fed by the sheet feeder without any interval between the cut sheets; a laminator that executes laminating processing and attaches a laminate film to a target sheet among the cut sheets conveyed by the continuous conveyor; and a hardware processor that causes the sheet feeder to feed one or more insertion sheets at least before or after the target sheet of the laminating processing.

ANTIMICROBIAL METALLIZED THIN FILMS FOR REFURBISHING COMMUNAL CONTACT SURFACES
20230392048 · 2023-12-07 · ·

An antimicrobial metallized thin film is provided that can be quickly and easily attached to surfaces of objects. This film includes a polymer substrate onto which a metallized layer is formed. The metallized layer comprises an exposed antimicrobial metal physical contact surface. Ions from this physical contact surface destroy the viral coating and ribonucleic acid of contacting viruses rendering the viruses inactive and noninfectious. The film can be attached via an adhesive layer disposed between and in contact with the polymer substrate and the communal surface. This arrangement allows the film to economically refurbish communal surfaces with a film overlay rather than completely replacing communal surfaces with antimicrobial materials. The film mitigates the likelihood of viruses such as coronaviruses, noroviruses, rhinoviruses, and the like from spreading due to contact with the refurbished communal surfaces.

PLANT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FERROMAGNETIC CORES OF ELECTRIC MACHINES
20230396136 · 2023-12-07 ·

A plant (10) and a method are described for manufacturing ferromagnetic cores of electric machines formed by a plurality of laminations which are packed and joined together by gluing in a blanking/punching tool (15) to which a continuous metal laminate (11) of ferromagnetic material is fed. In addition to the blanking/punching tool, the plant comprises at least one unit (21) for applying an adhesive material to a surface of the continuous metal laminate, at least one unit (25) for applying an activating compound to the opposite surface of the continuous metal laminate and at least one control unit (22) for controlling the application of the adhesive material and the activating compound into the respective application units. The unit for applying an adhesive material to a surface of the continuous metal laminate comprises a printing device (23, 60) and at least one transfer element (28, 51) on which the printing device deposits the adhesive material according to one or more impressions of a shape corresponding to the outline of each of the laminations. The adhesive material is then applied by the at least one transfer element to a surface of the continuous metal laminate according to the outline of each lamination, which is defined by the impressions.

FLEXIBLE PACKAGING STRUCTURE WITH A BUILT-IN OPENING AND RECLOSE FEATURE

A flexible packaging laminate is formed to have a built-in opening and reclose feature by forming the laminate as a two-part structure having an outer structure joined in face-to-face relation with an inner structure. Score lines are formed in both structures to enable an opening to be formed through the laminate by lifting an opening portion (e.g., a flap or the like) of the two structures out of the plane of the laminate. The score line through the outer structure defines a larger opening than the score line through the inner structure, such that a marginal region of the outer structure extends beyond the edge of the opening portion of the inner structure. A pressure-sensitive adhesive is used to re-adhere the marginal region to an underlying surface of the inner structure adjacent the opening through the laminate.

Method of die cutting a label
11235901 · 2022-02-01 · ·

A die cutting method that cuts patterns in a label is provided. According an embodiment, a method adjusts temperature of a label sheet comprising a laminated layer and a liner layer. The method further separates the laminated layer from the liner layer prior to making the cuts on the laminated layer. The method further cuts one or more patterns on the laminated layer. The method further re-attaches, the laminated layer to the liner layer.

Adhesive Structure and Adhesive Method for Adhering Panel to System Frame

An adhesive structure for adhering a panel to a system frame includes the system frame and the panel. The panel includes a glass cover, a display layer, and an optically clear adhesive (OCA). The display layer is configured to display images. The OCA is configured to adhere the glass cover and the display layer. There are partly OCAs disposed at two ends of the OCA. The partly OCAs are part exceed a width of the display layer. The partly OCAs are disposed between the display layer and system frame for adhering the display layer and system frame. By utilizing The adhesive structure for adhering the panel to the system frame, manufacturing processes of panels can be simplified. Light leaking when watching the panel at a wider viewing angle is improved.

COUNTERTOP EDGE EFFECT

A method of creating an edge effect for a countertop includes the steps of: cutting a first slab layer to a desired shape; applying a first epoxy resin layer to at least an outer edge portion of a bottom surface of the first slab layer; cutting a second slab layer; and attaching a second slab layer to a bottom surface of the first epoxy resin layer. The resulting edge of the countertop will comprise a striped design of slabs and epoxy. The invention allows for a thicker edge of a countertop with an aesthetically pleasing design.

CARRIER MATERIAL COMPRISING A FIRST PART OF A FORM-FIT CONNECTION
20210323296 · 2021-10-21 · ·

A carrier material includes at least a first thermoplastic fiber layer and a second thermoplastic fiber layer. At least a part of the first thermoplastic fiber layer and/or the second thermoplastic fiber layer at at least one boundary of the carrier material is removed, to provide a first part of a form-fit connection. The carrier material can be used in bituminous roofing membranes, roofing underlayment sheets, carriers for filter media, primary backings for tufted carpets and (cushion) vinyl floor coverings.
