TAPE LAMINATION MACHINE SCRAP COLLECTION ASSEMBLY
A scrap collection assembly for a tape lamination head that applies a plurality of composite tape segments includes a crack-off assembly with a scrap crack-off redirect roller configured to engage one or more composite tape segments and one or more scrap portions; a secondary crack-off roller configured to engage one or more composite tape segments and one or more scrap portions; a pivot that connects the crack-off assembly to the tape lamination head, wherein the secondary crack-off roller selectively moves about the pivot to change a direction of composite tape movement; and a conveyor that receives the scrap portion(s) from the secondary crack-off roller.
JIG PROVIDING ACCURATE POSITIONAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN UPPER AND LOWER LABELS FOR STICKING THE LABELS TO EACH OTHER
A jig for sticking a first sheet superposed on a second sheet to the second sheet in a thickness direction of the first and second sheets includes a first regulating portion, a second regulating portion, and a nipper. The first regulating portion regulates a position of the first sheet superposed on the second sheet to be aligned with a position of the second sheet in a first direction perpendicular to the thickness direction. The second regulating portion regulates a position of the first sheet superposed on the second sheet to be aligned with a position of the second sheet in a second direction perpendicular to the thickness direction and the first direction. The nipper nips the first sheet and the second sheet superposed and aligned with each other in the thickness direction such that at least a part of a peripheral portion of the first sheet is exposed.
CMC Laminate Components Having Laser Cut Features
Laminate components and methods for forming the same are provided. In one exemplary aspect, one or more features are laser cut into or along a laminate component or laminate sections thereof. The features are laser cut into or along the laminate component in an atmosphere. In this manner, and oxide layer is formed on the laser cut surfaces of the future. The features are laser cut into or along the laminate component or laminate sections thereof prior to an infiltration process, such as melt infiltration or chemical vapor infiltration. Accordingly, when the laminate component is infiltrated with an infiltration material, the infiltration material is prevented from infiltrating therethrough.
TAPE LAMINATION MACHINE CUTTING ASSEMBLY
A cutting assembly for a tape lamination head that applies a plurality of composite tape segments includes a cutter carriage configured to slide relative to the tape lamination head and adjacent to composite tape in a direction of composite tape movement; and a cutter assembly, carried by the cutter carriage, comprising a cutting blade and a cutting anvil, wherein the cutting blade is configured to cut the composite tape while the cutting carriage is moving at the same velocity as composite tape moving through the tape lamination head.
Frame material for drones and other unmanned aircraft, and drone frame made from such material
A drone frame includes first and second carbon fiber layers, and a center clear layer positioned between the first and second carbon fiber layers. A cutout is formed through an entire thickness of the first carbon fiber layer so as to expose a portion of the center clear layer. An LED unit is positioned in the cutout. The LED unit has a plurality of LEDs on a bottom thereof such that the LEDs abut the center clear layer. Light is transmitted from the LEDs through the center clear layer so as to illuminate the perimeter of the drone frame. A composite material used in the drone frame and a method of forming the composite material and drone frame are also disclosed.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SHOE MATERIAL COMPRISING LEATHER AND CLOTH AND SHOE MATERIAL MADE THEREFROM
The invention provides a method for manufacturing shoe material containing leather and cloth and a shoe material made therefrom. The method includes the steps of: a) material preparation; b) leather treatment; c) gluing; d) TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) placement; and e) hot pressing. This saves time compared to the sewing process. The shoe material includes a cloth, a leather, a first hot-melt adhesive layer selectively provided on said leather or said cloth, and a TPU film having a second hot-melt adhesive layer covered on the leather and the cloth with the second hot-melt adhesive layer in contact with the leather and the cloth. In this way, the problem of excessive adhesive is avoided.
Laminating planar films onto curved surfaces
This present disclosure describes a system and process for laminating a planar film sheet onto a curved surface of an optical element. One or more cuts to a planar film sheet are determined based in part on a curved surface of an optical element. The planar film sheet is cut along the determined one or more cuts to the planar film sheet to form a lamination sample. And the lamination sample has a plurality of stress relief boundaries that correspond to the determined one or more cuts to the planar film sheet. The lamination sample is laminated to the curved surface of the optical element to form a laminated coating on the optical element. And adjacent stress relief boundaries of the plurality of stress relief boundaries are in contact with each other, such that the laminated coating is a continuous film across the curved surface.
WATER VAPOR PERMEABLE CROSS-LAMINATED POLYMER FILM ASSEMBLY
A water vapor permeable polymer-based film assembly includes a first ply of a first water vapor permeable polymer having first polymer chains oriented in a first direction, a second ply of a second water vapor permeable polymer having second polymer chains oriented in a second direction that is transverse to the first direction, and an adhesive coupling the first ply of the first water vapor permeable polymer to the second ply of the second water vapor permeable polymer.
Engineered wood product and method of making same
A novel engineered wood product and method of making same that withstands the stresses, both natural and man-made, that cause warp, twist and bow.
STRAPLESS PROTECTIVE MASK
A personalize disposable self-adhesive and strapless protective mask for preventing inhalation of airborne materials, bacteria and viruses is provided. The self-adhesive protective mask includes a pliable adhesive film that is configured to surround a wearer's nose and mouth and a filtering material disposed at a central area for filtering air. A removable carrier is disposed along at least a portion of the perimeter of the adhesive film that is configured to facilitate handling and positioning of the protective mask onto a wearer's nose and mouth.
