Process for inhibiting galvanic corrosion of an aluminum structure connected, without using a splice plate, to a composite structure having a fiber including graphite
A composite structure comprises stacked sets of laminated fiber reinforced resin plies and metal sheets. Edges of the resin plies and metal sheets are interleaved to form a composite-to-metal joint connecting the resin plies with the metal sheets.
Method for the adhesion of a layer of fluorosilicone rubber to a layer of silicone rubber
A method for the adhesion of a layer of fluorosilicone rubber which is curable using a non-hydrosilylation curing process to a layer of silicone rubber which contains no perfluoroalkyl groups and which is curable using a non-hydrosilylation curing process, comprising the steps of: (i) incorporating either a hydrosilylation catalyst or a siloxane containing at least two silicon bonded hydrogen groups into the fluorosilicone rubber composition prior to curing and; (ii) incorporating the other of the hydrosilylation catalyst or the siloxane containing at least two silicon bonded hydrogen groups into the alternative silicone rubber composition prior to curing; (iii) preparing a mixture compound comprising the products of step (i) and step(ii) and having a weight ratio of the product of step (i) to the product of step (ii) in the range of 40:60 to 60:40; (iv) forming the products of step (i), (ii), and step (iii) into required shapes; (v) bringing the shaped products of step (iv) into contact with the product of step (iii) between the product of step (i) and product of step (ii); and (vi) adhering the shaped products in contact with each other together by curing the products of step (v).
ADHESIVE SHEET
An adhesive sheet includes: a carbon nanotube sheet including a plurality of carbon nanotubes aligned preferentially in one direction within a plane of the sheet; and an adhesive agent layer including an adhesive agent, the adhesive agent layer being curable.
ADHESIVE SHEET
An adhesive sheet includes: a carbon nanotube sheet including a plurality of carbon nanotubes aligned preferentially in one direction within a plane of the sheet; and an adhesive agent layer including an adhesive agent, in which a rupture elongation of the adhesive sheet is 10% or more.
COMPOSITE MATERIALS
A composite material that includes a layer of reinforcing fibres impregnated with a curable resin matrix and a plurality of electrically conductive composite particles positioned adjacent or in proximity to the reinforcing fibres. Each of the electrically conductive composite particles is composed of a conductive component and a polymeric component, wherein the polymeric component includes one or more polymers that are initially in a solid phase and are substantially insoluble in the curable resin, but is able to undergo at least partial phase transition to a fluid phase during a curing cycle of the composite material.
Method of forming a structural connection between a spar cap and a fairing for a wind turbine blade
A method of forming a structural connection between a spar cap 14 and an aerodynamic fairing 12. A composite comprising an uncured matrix and a compressible solid is applied between the spar cap and fairing and is then compressed and cured to adhere the fairing to the spar cap. The cured matrix composite has a void volume of at least 20%. The high void volume means that as the fairing is compressed into place and compresses the composite, it has space in which to deform so as not to place undue stress on the fairing and to produce a lightweight connection.
Fire-rated structural OSB panels with overlaid water-resistant barrier
A wood or engineered wood structural panel, such as, but not limited to, OSB (oriented strand board) or plywood, that is both fire-resistant and water resistant. The panel is factory-coated with a product that provides fire resistance. The treatment gives it a Fire-Resistant (FR) performance (for use in a one- or two-hour rated assembly). The panel also is overlaid or coated in a factory setting with a weather/water resistive barrier (WRB). The structural panel thus combines a fire-resistant structural sheathing and WRB product in one integrated panel produced at a factory prior for installation at a job site.
COMPOSITION FOR RADIATION SHIELDING AND METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME
Embodiments of the invention provide a composition for shielding radiation, including 100 parts by weight of a first resin including one or more selected from the group consisting of a polyurethane resin, a polysiloxane resin, a silicone resin; a fluorine resin, an acrylic resin, and an alkyd resin; 5 to 30 parts by weight of a second resin including one or more selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), medium-density polyethylene (MDP E), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and low-density polyethylene (LDPE); 5 to 30 parts by weight of a polyether ether ketone (PEEK) resin powder; 5 to 80 parts by weight of a metal powder; 1 to 70 parts by weight of a metal oxide powder; 1 to 50 parts by weight of paraffin; 5 to 15 parts by weight of a boron compound; and 10 to 50 parts by weight of a carbon powder. Accordingly, a fiber complex, protective clothing, and the like including the composition for shielding radiation of the present invention includes a PEEK resin without use of lead, and thus, may shield even neutron rays as well as radiation, such as alpha rays, beta rays, proton rays, gamma rays, and X-rays.
COATED COMPOSITE COMPONENT
A coated composite component includes, in this order, a composite component, a fluorine-containing film and/or a fluorine-containing woven fabric, knitted fabric or crocheted fabric, and a tear-off fabric. A method for producing a coated composite component including, in this order, a composite component, a fluorine-containing film and/or a fluorine-containing woven fabric, knitted fabric or crocheted fabric, and a tear-off fabric.
