METHODS OF MAKING ROOF LAMINATES WITH REMOVABLE PROTECTIVE SHEETS AND ROOF LAMINATES

A roof laminate (10) includes a roof membrane (12, 100, 200, 300) and a protective sheet (14, 114, 214, 314) removably affixed thereto. The surface (20) of the roof membrane (12, 100, 200, 300) can be protected from dirt, scratches and scrapes by a protective sheet (14, 114, 214, 314) which also provides other beneficial attributes that aid an installer. The membrane (12, 100, 200) and the sheet (14, 114, 214) are heat laminated together in the absence of adhesive and tackifiers. Alternatively, the membrane (12, 300) and the sheet (14, 314) are surface treated and then brought into contact with one another in the absence of adhesive and tackifiers. The sheet (14, 114, 214, 314)) may be single layer or include at least a first layer (30) directly secured to a second layer (32). The first layer (30) provides at least one of UV protection, anti-slip, and anti-glare to the roof laminate (10) and so aids the installer in at least one of those respects. The second layer (32) is removably affixed to the roof membrane (12, 100, 200, 300).

Thermal/acoustical liner

A multi-layer liner material for use as a thermal and acoustical insulator which is lightweight, breathable, hydrophobic, oleophobic and fire-resistant. A central insulation core layer is contacted on a first surface by a first highly breathable layer and on a second surface by a second highly breathable layer, such that these three layers are resistant to water or oil penetrating the insulation core layer causing the liner to gain weight. The first and second highly breathable layers are preferably made from inherently flame resistant fibers and treated with a fluorocarbon surface treatment for water repellency, UV resistance and mold/mildew resistance. The first highly breathable layer is adjacent a facing layer while the second highly breathable layer is adjacent a backing layer. At least one surface of one of the first or second highly breathable layers, or facing or backing layers may include a carbon printing pattern to provide ESD protection.

Composite structures, materials with a removable backing for composite structures and related devices and methods

Composite structures and methods of forming composite structures may include at least one ply of material extending along a length of the composite structure. The at least one ply of material includes sections of material extending along the length of the composite structure.

Bonded substrate including polycrystalline diamond film

A wafer has a layer containing silicon, a layer of polycrystalline diamond deposited on the silicon-containing layer, and a bow-compensation layer on the other side of the silicon-containing layer for reducing wafer-bow. A method of making a bonded structure includes an activation process for creating dangling bonds on the surface of one substrate, followed by contact-bonding the surface to a second substrate at low temperature. A bonded structure may include two substrates contact bonded to each other, one substrate including a layer containing silicon, a layer of polycrystalline diamond, a bow-compensation layer for reducing wafer-bow of the first substrate, and the other substrate including gallium nitride, silicon carbide, lithium niobate, lithium tantalate, gallium arsenide, indium phosphide, or another suitable material other than diamond.

A method and an apparatus for producing a relief-pattern forming, the method and apparatus being suitable for producing a film-like material, such as an embossed film, having a fine relief-structure pattern formed on a surface thereof so as to have a distinctive optical effect with higher quality, good productivity, and fewer defects. A transfer pattern printed layer having an inverted structure of a relief-structure pattern is formed on a second substrate by printing a transfer pattern onto the surface of a first substrate on which the relief-structure pattern is formed at a predetermined position by registration with the relief-structure pattern followed by drying, laminating with the second substrate, curing and peeling.

Multilayered polyolefin films

The invention relates to a polyolefin film comprising at least five layers: a core layer (a), comprising a polyolefin; an outer supporting layer (b), comprising copolymers of ethylene and propylene; an inner supporting layer (c), on the face of the core layer opposite to the outer supporting layer, comprising a polyolefin; a first coating layer (d) immediately in contact with the inner supporting layer (c), and finally a second coating layer (e) immediately in contact with the inner supporting layer (c), both comprising copolymers of ethylene with one or several polar monomers. Film for medicine packaging and method of preparing the same

The present invention discloses a film for a medicine packaging and a method of preparing the same. The film for the medicine packaging includes a polymer film layer, a graphene composite layer and a light-curable adhesive, wherein the polymer film layer is bonded with a graphene composite layer by a light-curable adhesive, the graphene composite layer includes multiple graphene layers bonded by the light-curable adhesive; and the light-curable adhesive includes a hyperbranched cationic mussel-imitated polymer including a multi-hydroxylbenzoylbenzamide ene amide monomer, a cationic monomer and a photo-responsive monomer. The present invention provides strong adhesion with reduced adhesive layer, allowing greatly increasing the number of the graphene layers in the graphene composite layer without obvious increase in the total thickness and mass. This can meet the requirements of the medicine packaging material, as it obviously lowers the film's permeation to water vapor and oxygen and significantly enhances the tensile strength.
