Reduced weight armor systems and methods of manufacturing the same

An armor system configured to be coupled to a frame surrounding a window in a vehicle or other structure, such as a building. The armor system may be configured to provide any desired ballistics protection rating. The armor system includes a ballistics-grade armor panel and at least one insert embedded in the ballistics-grade armor panel. The insert extends around at least a portion of a periphery of the ballistics-grade armor panel. The one or more inserts may be configured to reduce the parasitic weight of the armor system.

Method for manufacturing soundproofing board part having excellent sound absorption performance and soundproofing board part manufactured by the same

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a soundproofing board part having improved sound absorption performance. The soundproofing board part is manufactured by using, as a material, a recycled soundproofing material which contains a polyurethane foam having excellent sound absorption performance and impact resilience during the press molding; and by producing a sound absorption part on the back surface of the soundproofing board part through a remolding processing method. Also disclosed is a soundproofing board part manufactured by the method. Accordingly, sound absorption performance of the soundproofing board part is improved by about 20% or greater, manufacturing cost thereof may be reduced by recycled resources utilizing waste sheets, and manufacturing process may be simplified compared the related art.

Hydroformed composite material and method for making same

A hydroformed composite material includes an expanded spun bonded nonwoven layer having a loft of at least about 1.3 times greater than an original loft of an original unexpanded spun bonded nonwoven web from which the expanded spun bonded nonwoven layer was created, and an air permeability of at least about 1.2 times greater than an original air permeability of the original unexpanded spun bonded nonwoven web. The hydroformed composite material includes a formed film layer that includes a plurality of extended cells containing continuous fibers and/or fibrils of the expanded spun bonded nonwoven layer.

LIDDING FILM FOR ASEPTIC PACKAGING

A method for providing a film lidding structure which can survive aseptic processing, the method comprising: providing a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) film layer; laminating the HDPE or PP film layer to at least one base layer to form a lidding; adhering the at least one base layer to the rim of a container to form a lidded container; and sterilizing the lidded container using high concentration hydrogen peroxide at elevated temperature.

FINE FIBER WEB WITH CHEMICALLY FUNCTIONAL SPECIES

A functionalized fine fiber is provided. In an embodiment, the functionalized fine fiber is usable in chromatography. The functionalized fine fiber includes a matrix of fine fiber. The fine fibers preferably have an average diameter of less than 2 micron, and each fine fiber preferably has a length of at least 1 millimeter. The fine fibers carry and immobilize functional molecules.

Scent sampler and air freshener
RE046612 · 2017-11-21 · ·

A scent sampler and air freshener has a wafer of an absorbent resilient material infused with a liquid containing a scent. The wafer is encapsulated in a chamber formed between two panels of sheet material with edges sealed together to form an envelope. An opening in one of the panels enables scent from the liquid to be emitted to the ambient atmosphere. The rate of emission can be increased by squeezing the panels to compress the wafer. The interior surfaces of the panels can be coated with a barrier film to prevent leakage of the liquid from contaminating the sheet material.

Eco-friendly flooring and method for manufacturing same

09825227 · 2017-11-21 · ·

Provided are a filling film and a method of manufacturing an organic light-emitting display apparatus by using the filling film. The filling film includes a filling material, a first releasing film attached to a surface of the filling film, a second releasing film attached to another surface of the filling film, and a supporting layer attached to the second releasing film. The bonding force between the second releasing film and the supporting layer is greater than the bonding force between the filling material and the second releasing film.

THERMALLY LAMINATED TAB LINER
20170291399 · 2017-10-12 ·

Liner having an induction heat sealable layer for sealing to a rim of a container, and a pull tab for ease of removal of the liner from the container rim. A folded insert disposed between multilayer upper and lower components, has a heat bondable polyolefin layer that is thermally laminated to polyolefin layers of the upper and lower components, forming a pull tab between the integrated polyolefin layers. The resulting composite resists delamination and can be formed in a single thermal lamination step, avoiding the multiple lamination steps, associated high equipment costs, and complex layer constructions of the prior art.
