A laminate sheet, particularly an aluminium-based laminate comprises polyethylene having a density of 0.90-0.96 g/cc, a polyethylene-based film having a melting temperature of less than 240° C.; low density polyethylene in order to provide high adhesion; an aluminium barrier film, and a polyethylene-based film having a sealing property. Furthermore, the laminate sheet may further comprise a blown film or a dry laminate for making a tube and a tube shoulder in order to prevent flavor loss of the products packaged therein and without stress crack.

Tube for a medical container

A tube for a medical container has a tube wall which consists of at least two layers. According to the invention, at least one layer contains a styrene-containing thermoplastic polymer (S-TPE), in particular a styrene-butadiene block copolymer (SBC) or a copolyester, a copolyester ether or a cyclic olefin copolyester. The at least one other layer contains ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), preferably with a vinyl acetate (VA) portion in the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer of from 10% to 30%, preferably 14% to 28%. The EVA can be mixed with a thermoplastic polybutene and/or SEBS to improve the tube properties. The tube wall can have a two-layer structure with an inner or an outer layer which contains the S-TPE, copolyester, copolyester ether or cyclic olefin copolyester, or a three-layer structure with an outer and inner layer containing the S-TPE or copolyester or copolyester ether.

Multilayer film for reclosable pet packaging

A multilayer film: an adhesive layer A: an extrudable hot-melt self-adhesive composition; a complexable thin layer B; and a heat-sealable and cleavable layer C of a linear copolyester C1 obtained by polycondensation of a composition of monomers: at least one diol (i), at least one compound (ii) chosen from terephthalic acid or a diester derivative and at least one compound (iii) chosen from an aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acid or a diester or anhydride derivative; the amounts of the monomers (i), (ii) and (iii) used in the polycondensation such that the softening temperature of C1 is below 190° C. A process for producing the multilayer film by co-extrusion blow-molding. A resealable packaging comprising a PET-based receptacle and a seal of said multilayer film, the heat-sealable and cleavable layer (C) of which is heat-sealed on the receptacle.

SAMPLE CONTAINER

A sample holder includes sample carrier and sealing foil thermally sealing microfluidic sample carrier cavities. The sealing foil has a sealing layer connected with the sample carrier. Sealing layer softening temperature is near sealing temperature of the sealing layer during sealing. The sealing foil outer layer use temperature is greater than sealing heating temperature and greater than or equal to sealing temperature. The sealing foil includes a height equalizing layer having softening temperature below sealing heating temperature. The equalizing layer is ductile at temperature less than or equal to sealing heating temperature and greater than or equal to sealing temperature. A sealing foil decoupler layer, at layer temperature less than or equal to sealing heating temperature or greater than or equal to sealing temperature, is stiffer than the equalizing and sealing layers. The equalizing layer is between outer and decoupler layers and sealing layer is outwardly of decoupler layer.

Disclosed, among other things, are ways to manufacture reduced density thermoplastics using rapid solid-state foaming and machines useful for the saturation of plastic. In one embodiment, a foaming process may involve saturating a semi-crystalline polymer such as Polylactic Acid (PLA) with high levels of gas, and then heating, which may produce a reduced density plastic having high levels of crystallinity. In another embodiment, a foaming process may produce layered structures in reduced density plastics with or without integral skins. In another embodiment, a foaming process may produce deep draw structures in reduced density plastics with or without integral skins. In yet another embodiment, a foaming process may utilize additives, blends, or fillers, for example. In yet another embodiment, a foaming process may involve saturating a semi-crystalline polymer such as Polylactic Acid (PLA) with high levels of gas, and then heating, which may produce a reduced density plastic having high levels of crystallinity.

RECYCLABLE FILMS AND PACKAGING

A recyclable film contains a base film of polyethylene that has been oriented, annealed, and irradiatively crosslinked, and a sealant. The base film has a free shrink rate of less than 10% in both the machine direction and the transverse direction when exposed to heat of 90° C. These recyclable films are ideal for use as packaging components that can be hermetically heat sealed to themselves or other packaging components, while maintaining low shrink and excellent appearance.

AROMA PENETRATION HEAT SEAL LINER AND METHOD OF SEALING A CONTAINER
20210171255 · 2021-06-10 ·

A non-venting one-piece, partially perforated multilayer induction heat seal liner for a container that allows an aroma or scent from a solid substance within the sealed container to permeate through the liner, while preventing leakage and/or physical contact of the substance by the consumer. The liner includes a partial perforation extending completely through a metal foil layer, and leaving an un-perforated thickness in a paper layer. The partial perforation will allow a prospective customer to sniff the scent or aroma released through the partial perforation, while the liner remains secured to the container, extending shelf life of the substance, and preventing leakage, as well as, contamination, damage and/or reduced volume caused by consumers sampling the substance/product within the container.
