Laminate structure to stabilize a dimensionally unstable layer

A seal laminate for closing a mouth of a container is provided. The seal laminate includes a heat seal layer, a structural base support layer and upper and lower dimensional stable layers. The heat seal layer bonds the laminate to a rim surrounding the container's mouth. The structural base support layer may be comprised of a pulp, paper, cardboard, chipboard, paperboard, or cellulose based material having a moisture content of about 3 to about 6 percent and is positioned above the heat seal layer. The upper and lower dimensionally stable layers are disposed above and below the structural base support layer and are sized to balance the vertical forces on the structural base support layer upon exposure to about 60 percent or greater relative humidity. The upper and lower dimensionally stable layers have a water vapor transmission rate of about 1.5 g/100 in.sup.2/24 hours or below.

LIDDING FILM FOR ASEPTIC PACKAGING

A method for providing a film lidding structure which can survive aseptic processing, the method comprising: providing a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) film layer; laminating the HDPE or PP film layer to at least one base layer to form a lidding; adhering the at least one base layer to the rim of a container to form a lidded container; and sterilizing the lidded container using high concentration hydrogen peroxide at elevated temperature.

Packaging material for packaging of light-sensitive goods and method for producing said packaging material

A packaging material for packaging of light-sensitive goods, said packaging material comprising a first layer and a second layer, at least one hole penetrating said first layer and being covered by said second layer, and a light barrier, wherein said light barrier comprises a layer of ink being essentially nontransparent to light and provided on said second layer to at least partly cover said hole. The disclosure further relates to a method for providing a light barrier covering a hole in a packaging material as well as to a package for packaging of light-sensitive goods.

Antimicrobial packaging films

The present invention is directed to a thermoplastic packaging film coated with an antimicrobial coating, a method for the preparation of the coated film and packaging articles made with the film.

Composite film

A composite film for closing a container by sealing the composite film against a circumferential sealing surface of the container or of a cap ring to be connected to the container has a support layer made of a metal film and a sealing layer connected to the metal film. The sealing layer comprises a coextruded layer with a cohesively breaking intermediate layer and adhesion promoter layers arranged on both sides of the intermediate layer. The composite film is suitable for tight sealing against sealing surfaces made of polished tinplate.

Cover material for packaging container for retort sterilization

Provided is a cover material for packaging contains for retort sterilization which comes to exhibit excellent sealing strength through low-temperature, short-time heat sealing. The cover material for packaging containers for retort sterilization is constituted of a multilayered laminate obtained by superposing a base layer, an interlayer, and a sealing layer in this order, and is characterized in that the base layer is constituted of a laminated film obtained by laminating a polyethylene terephthalate film or polybutylene terephthalate film to an aluminum foil and the aluminum foil of the base layer has been laminated to the interlayer with a polyurethane-based adhesive or a polyester-based adhesive, and that the aluminum foil has a thickness of 7-40 μm, the polyethylene terephthalate film or the polybutylene terephthalate film has a thickness of 6-18 μm, the interlayer has a thickness of 10-100 μm, and the sealing layer has a thickness of 3-20 μm.

LID FILM FOR FOOD PACKAGING

The present invention relates to a lid film for packaging of e.g. human or pet food. The lid film has a multi-layer structure and comprises a sealing layer, a barrier layer, a print primer layer, a print layer, an optional print protection layer, and a relief layer. The sealing layer, the barrier layer, the print primer layer, the print layer and the optional print protection layer are essentially flat. The relief layer is arranged at least on a part of the print layer and comprises at least n three dimensional structures per cm.sup.2 projecting at an essentially right angle from a surface of the adjacent print layer or the optional print protection layer and said three dimensional structures forming an non-continuous elevated surface, wherein the total of said elevated surface area formed by the three dimensional structures equals at least m % of a total surface area of the lid film and wherein the three dimensional structures have a minimal height of 5 μm.

THERMALLY LAMINATED TAB LINER
20170291399 · 2017-10-12 ·

Liner having an induction heat sealable layer for sealing to a rim of a container, and a pull tab for ease of removal of the liner from the container rim. A folded insert disposed between multilayer upper and lower components, has a heat bondable polyolefin layer that is thermally laminated to polyolefin layers of the upper and lower components, forming a pull tab between the integrated polyolefin layers. The resulting composite resists delamination and can be formed in a single thermal lamination step, avoiding the multiple lamination steps, associated high equipment costs, and complex layer constructions of the prior art.

Crumb rubber obtained from recycled tires is subjected to an interlinked substitution process. The process utilizes a reactive component that interferes with sulfur bonds. The resulting treated rubber exhibits properties similar to those of the virgin composite rubber structure prior to being granulated, and is suitable for use in fabricating new tires, engineered rubber articles, and asphalt rubber for use in waterproofing and paving applications.

Integrated One-Way Valve with Polyol Film
20170283136 · 2017-10-05 · ·

A one-way valve integrated into a lamination of the kind used as a membrane seal for coffee containers and the like. The valve comprises a top layer, a substrate and a fluid polyol film. The top layer and the substrate are adhered together by an adhesive disposed between the top layer and the substrate. The adhesive defines a boundary of a valve chamber in which the top layer and the substrate are not permanently adhered to each other. The film enhances the adhesiveness of the top layer to the substrate in the area of the valve chamber so that gas inside the container does not escape until the internal pressure reaches a minimum value.
