A functionalized carpet for covering floorings, including an upper layer of needle punched fibres of the polymeric type in which there are gaps between the fibres and a lower reinforcing layer configured for retaining the fibres of the upper layer.

Flat Motor Vehicle Composite Structure Component Having a Metal Sheet Component and a Flat Inherently Rigid Reinforcement Component of Porous Plastic Connected to Same

A flat motor vehicle composite structure component, comprising a metal sheet component having a shaped metal sheet and to which at least one flat, inherently rigid reinforcement component of porous plastic is connected on at least one side of the metal sheet, the surface of the reinforcement component is adhesively connected to a side of the metal sheet component which, in the fully installed state, is intended to face a motor vehicle functional space.

PAD HOLDER
20170368783 · 2017-12-28 · ·

A pad holder includes a base panel. The base panel includes a panel perimeter edge that defines a panel face. A lip material is connected to the panel face at a connection. A lip of the lip material extends from the connection towards a center of the panel face. The lip includes a lip perimeter edge, and the lip, panel face, and the connection collectively define an envelope. The envelope includes an opening defined by the lip perimeter edge. The envelope is sized to receive a liquid absorbent pad where the lip overlaps edges of the liquid absorbent pad when the liquid absorbent pad is disposed within the envelope.

Aircraft floor assemblies with discontinuous coupling between layers

A finished floor assembly covers a floor area of an aircraft and includes a subfloor, a padding assembly, and a finish flooring layer. Noise radiates from the subfloor due to vibrations transmitted by an aircraft structure. The padding assembly attenuates the noise and includes a first pad layer, a second pad layer, and a plurality of discontinuous couplings. The first pad layer abuts the subfloor. The second pad layer is adjacent to the first pad layer. The plurality of discontinuous couplings are laterally separated from each other along the floor area by void portions. The discontinuous couplings secure the first pad layer to the second pad layer and the first pad layer and the second pad layer are in contact at the void portions. The finish flooring layer disposed overtop the padding assembly.

Floor Mat Having Reduced Tuft Profile

This invention relates to a floor mat having reduced tuft profile on the backside of the textile component of the floor mat. The floor mat is comprised of a textile component and a base component. The textile component includes face yarn tufted through a primary backing layer. The reduced tuft profile is present on the backside of the textile component. Advantages of a floor mat with reduced tuft profile include improved uniformity of the secondary backing layer applied to the textile component and improved durability of the textile component.

BUILDING PANEL AND METHOD TO PRODUCE SUCH PANEL
20230182456 · 2023-06-15 · ·

A building panel having a substrate and a layer arrangement, arranged on one side of the substrate. The layer arrangement having a surface layer and where the surface layer includes carpet fibres. At least the substrate at least partly includes a mechanical locking device for connecting at least two building panels. Where the substrate and the layer arrangement each includes a polymer of the same type of polymer.

Low weight modular carpet components and methods of making the same

A low-weight carpet tile and process for making the same, wherein the carpet tile comprises a facecloth having a plurality of face yarns tufted through a primary backing, an extruded polymer secondary backing layer, and a reinforcing scrim layer partially embedded within the extruded polymer secondary backing layer. The top surface and bottom surface of the carpet tile are defined by the facecloth and the reinforcing scrim layer, respectively. A polymer-based resin is extruded onto the facecloth to form an at least substantially uniform secondary backing layer, and the reinforcing scrim layer is laid onto the extruded polymer secondary backing layer while the extruded polymer secondary backing layer remains above a softening temperature for the resin. The entire multi-layer web is then passed through a nip to embed the reinforcing scrim layer into the extruded polymer secondary layer, and the entire web is chilled.
