A fabric includes a fabric body and a backing resin layer laminated on a rear surface of the fabric body. The fabric body includes a fluorine-containing organic compound adhered to at least the surface thereof, and the fluorine-containing organic compound has six carbon atoms and at least one fluorine atom. The backing resin layer contains a resin, a flame retardant, and an organic fluorine based oil repellent in which the carbon number is six.

A tool for removing carpet from a floor. The carpet removal tool includes a panel having an elongated opening thereon. Opposing ends of the panel include handles pivotally affixed thereto to be grasped by one or more users, wherein the handles can be positioned parallel to or perpendicular to the panel. In operation, the user cuts a portion of the carpet to be removed and secures the end of the carpet within the elongated opening on the panel. The user then pulls using the handle so that the carpet wraps around the panel as it is removed from the floor. The carpet can be manually wrapped around the panel by the user.

A process for fabricating a molded carpet laminate includes supporting a carpet layer in a molding tool that has mold dies that define a mold cavity. The mold dies are then moved from an open position to a partially closed position. In the partially closed position, a heated polymer material is injected into the mold cavity. The heated polymer material incompletely fills the mold cavity on the working side of the carpet layer. The mold dies are then moved from the partially closed position to a closed position to spread the heated polymer material and fill the mold cavity on the working side of the carpet layer to form a molded polymer wall. The molded polymer wall adheres to the working side of the carpet layer to form a molded carpet laminate. The mold dies are then moved from the closed position and the molded carpet laminate is cooled.

Fabrication processes are provided for a fabric product that provide a continuous moisture and/or thermal barrier around the fabric product, eliminating moisture and thermal leakage through seams and other stitching perforations, and creating an equal barrier quality throughout the structure of the fabric product. A fabric product is also provided.

A surface fiber treatment, carpets, carpet tiles, rugs and flooring systems prepared with the treatment and a method for applying the treatment for various purposes including pest control are provided. Pesticides such as diatomaceous earth, borax, and silicon dioxide are applied to a carpet backing in a manner that preserves fiber softness.

Articles, such as garments, including films comprising dried aqueous polyurethane dispersions are disclosed, whereby the garment has an altered stress which is exhibited during wear of the garment. The film may be bonded to the fabric of the article to provide a fabric or film laminate.

A dimensionally stable universal floor covering includes a tufted textile having stitches and a reinforcement layer operatively connected to the stitches to provide dimensional stability for the entire floor covering. The reinforcement layer is made of fibers that are initially contained within a composition of adhesive and fibers. Mixing of the adhesive/fibers composition and/or injection of compressed air, assists in preparing the adhesive and fiber composition to be in the preferred condition and position prior to the forming of the reinforcement layer. Multiple sources of pressure, including vacuum, are applied in a controlled manner for moving the adhesive and fiber composition to form a reinforcement layer of fibers that is operatively connected to the stitches and/or to form a layer of fibers and adhesive that is contained within the stitches. The universal floor covering is selectively cut and transported in a roll for installation, and it can be conveniently recycled if necessary.

Disclosed is composite comprising four layers, two of the layers is a polymer film and two of the layers are non-woven materials, that is suitable for use as a primary backing material and/or a secondary backing material in the manufacture of textile carpet compositions. Also disclosed is a method for making the disclosed composite.
