A method of manufacturing a material system may include: stacking an aluminum layer, glass composite layer that may include thermoplastic prepreg plies, and carbon composite layer so that the aluminum layer is adjacent to the glass composite layer, and the glass composite layer is adjacent to the carbon composite layer; and consolidating the thermoplastic prepreg plies to soften the aluminum layer. A method of manufacturing a material system may include: stacking an aluminum layer, glass composite layer that comprises thermoplastic resin, and carbon composite layer so that the glass composite layer is between the aluminum and carbon composite layers; and adjusting temperature and pressure to consolidate the stack.

An impact-resistant, photovoltaic (IRPV) window system is provided. The system may include an IRPV window coupled to a structure, a controller, and an insurance computing device. The IRPV window may include an impact resistant (IR) layer, a photovoltaic (PV) material that may generate an electrical output, and an electrode coupled to the PV material that may receive the electrical output. The IRPV window may permit a portion of visible light to pass through the IRPV window. The controller may monitor the electrical output and generate a solar profile of the structure based upon the electrical output. The insurance computing device may receive the solar profile and determine if an insurance policy associated with the structure is eligible for a policy adjustment and/or an insurance reward or discount offer.

Provided are a curable resin composition having high durability and adherence to a base material such as a metal, a molded composite member formed by coating the base material with the curable resin composition and performing resin molding, and a production method for the same. The curable resin composition contains a polyamide-based resin, a blocked polyisocyanate, and an epoxy compound, and the polyamide-based resin has an amino group concentration from 20 to 300 mmol/kg, and has a water absorption of 1 mass % or less determined by a water absorption test specified by ASTM D570. The polyamide-based resin has a C.sub.8-18 alkylene chain and has a melting point from 160 to 250° C. Per 1 mol of amino groups of the polyamide-based resin, a proportion of isocyanate groups of the blocked polyisocyanate is from 1.5 to 5 mol, and a proportion of epoxy groups of the epoxy compound is from 0.1 to 0.8 mol.
