Apparatus and method for cutting, printing or embossing
The invention relates to an apparatus (10, 80) and method (160) for cutting, printing or embossing a continuous sheet (26) of material. The apparatus (10, 80) comprising a tool element (12), at least two anvils 14, 16 which are co-operable with the tool element (12), and a phase adjustment device (24). The tool element (12) is configured to have a constant surface speed during operation of the apparatus (10, 80). The apparatus (10, 80) is adapted to receive the continuous sheet (26) at a constant speed into the apparatus (10, 80), and being adapted to output the continuous sheet (26) at a constant speed from the apparatus (10, 80). The phase adjustment device (24) is operable to adjust a speed of the continuous sheet (26) within the apparatus (10, 80) in order to adjust a phase of alternate parts of the continuous sheet (26) to be cut, printed or embossed by each anvil (14, 16) as it co-operates with the tool element (12).
Method for checking the maintenance of register of printed images to be printed on two opposite sides of a printing material
A method for checking the maintenance of register of printing images to be printed on two opposite sides of a printing material, in which the first side of the printing material is printed in a rotary printing press by a first printing unit cylinder, and in which the second side of the printing material, which lies opposite to first cite, is printed in the printing press by a second printing unit cylinder which interacts with the first printing unit cylinder. A printed image is printed by the first printing unit cylinder under the second printing unit cylinder. Afterwards, the printing material is printed in contact with the two interacting printing unit cylinders with the printing image, which is printed under the second printing unit cylinder, being printed onto the same side of the printing material together with an identical or a different printing image which is to be printed by the second printing unit cylinder during continuous printing of the rotary printing press. The printed images, which are printed together onto the same side of the printing material, are subsequently checked, with regard to their maintenance of register.
WEB SHIFT COMPENSATION
According to examples, an apparatus may include a first feed element and a second feed element, in which a web is to be fed to the first feed element and from the first feed element to the second feed element. The apparatus may also include a controller that may determine whether the web exiting the second feed element is shifted from an intended position and based on a determination that the web is shifted from the intended position, cause the first feed element to be moved laterally a first distance and the second feed element to be moved laterally a second distance to compensate for the shift in the web exiting the second feed element.
REGISTER ERROR DETECTION DEVICE, REGISTER ERROR DETECTION METHOD, AND PRINTED MATTER
In a register error detection device, an image capturing unit captures an image of two first register marks of a first color printed on a substrate by a first plate cylinder of a rotary printing press and a second register mark of a second color printed on the substrate by a second plate cylinder of the rotary printing press. A calculation unit calculates a register error based on the number of pixels between a reference position located between the two first register marks and a comparison position that is based on the second register mark in the image captured by the image capturing unit.
Observation-enhanced virtual master system for a printing press
A web printing press is provided. The web printing press includes at least one printing unit printing images on a web, at least one press component in direct contact with the web, a cutting device for cutting the web into sheets and a controller transmitting a virtual master signal to the at least one printing unit and at least one press component. A sensor senses the at least one press component or directly senses the web downstream of the at least one print unit and generates a sensor signal. A processor receives the sensor signal and the virtual master signal, the processor transmits a modified virtual master signal to the cutting device as a function of the received sensor signal. Methods are also provided.

A printed image is printed by the first printing unit cylinder under the second printing unit cylinder. Afterwards, the printing material is printed in contact with the two interacting printing unit cylinders with the printing image, which is printed under the second printing unit cylinder, being printed onto the same side of the printing material together with an identical or a different printing image which is to be printed by the second printing unit cylinder during continuous printing of the rotary printing press. The printed images, which are printed together onto the same side of the printing material, are subsequently checked, with regard to their maintenance of register.
Method for Digital Printing on a Running Printing-Material Web
A method for digital printing on a running printing material web (10), wherein repeating motifs (a, b, c) are continually printed on the web and images of the printed motifs are continually recorded with a camera and rendered as still images (a, b, g) on a display (14) for web observation, with the motifs displayed next to one another in a plurality of tracks (A, B, C) and with a repeat that changes from track to track, and in that the images for web observation are recorded track by track and synchronously with the repeat applicable to the respective track.
Systems and methods for monitoring overprint orientation
The present application provides an overprint orientation system. The overprint orientation system may include a first printer for printing on a substrate a first field and one or more orientation indicators within a second field, a second printer for overprinting the second field, and an orientation sensor. The orientation sensor determines whether the orientation indicators are visible.
