Drying unit for drying printed substrates
The invention relates to a drying unit (22) for drying printed substrates (21), comprising a chamber (23) with a gaseous medium which is oxygen-reduced by means of an inert gas, wherein the substrates (21) are guided through the chamber (23) or at least can be guided through the chamber, and the chamber (23) has an entrance for the substrates (21) to be guided into the chamber (23) in the transport direction (T) of the substrates (21). The entrance for the substrates (21) to be guided into the chamber (23) is formed by two cylinders (04; 06) which are positioned against each other longitudinally. The cylinders (04; 06) positioned against each other at the entrance of the chamber (23) form a printing unit (03). One of the cylinders (04) is designed as a printing cylinder (04), and the other cylinder (06) is designed as a cylinder (06) which interacts with the printing cylinder (04) and applies a printed image onto the affected substrates (21). The two cylinders (04; 06) which are positioned against each other under pressure at the entrance of the chamber (23) form a seal which runs axially to the cylinders (04; 06) for preventing the oxygen-reduced gaseous medium from leaking out of the chamber (23) and/or for preventing oxygen from the ambient air from entering the chamber (23). The printing unit (03) arranged at the entrance of the chamber (23) is designed as a printing unit (03) for an intaglio printing process.

Disclosed is a drum printing apparatus including: a vacuum drum rotatably supported and coupled to a base and including a drum body shaped like a drum a printing head unit configured to form a set image including a text and a picture in the vacuum drum; a clamping unit configured to perform unclamping for mounting paper from a paper feeder to the drum body and clamping for holding and pressing paper to the drum body; and a cam unit coupled to the base and configured to operate being interlocked with the clamping unit, the clamping unit including a clamping knife coupled to a knife rotating-shaft and configured to be rotatable between a clamping position for pressing paper and an unclamping position for separating from paper, and a pair of clamping brackets coupled to opposite ends of the knife rotating-shaft and configured to be interlocked with the cam unit.
DRYER UNIT AND PRINTING MACHINE
A dryer unit (18) for applying a dryer gas to a sheet material inside a printing machine comprises a dryer body (20) having a first set (26) of dryer gas output openings (28). These openings (28) are arranged in a substantially regular pattern covering an application width (20a) of the dryer unit (18). Additionally, at least one dryer gas output slot (38) is arranged upstream the first set (26) of dryer gas output openings (28). Furthermore, a printing machine is presented which comprises such a dryer unit (18).
Device and printing press for producing a security element on a substrate
The invention relates to a device for producing security elements (03) on a substrate (02), said device having a first printing couple (21; 22), by means of which substrate (02) being conveyed along a transport path is and/or can be printed with a plurality of first print image elements (12) spaced apart from one another using a first coating medium (11) that contains magnetic particles; a first magnetic cylinder (41), arranged downstream of the first printing couple (21; 22) in the transport path and comprising magnetic elements (43) on its outer circumference; a second magnetic cylinder (42), arranged downstream of the first magnetic cylinder (41) in the transport path and likewise comprising magnetic elements (43) on its outer circumference; and a drying and/or curing device (52), associated with or positioned downstream of the second magnetic cylinder (42) in the transport path, by means of which at least the coating medium (13) of a plurality of second print image elements (14), printed onto the substrate (02) and spaced apart from one another, is and/or can be dried and/or cured at least superficially and/or at least each partially, wherein in the transport path between the first and the second magnetic cylinder (41; 42) a second printing couple (31; 32) is provided, by means of which the substrate (02) is and/or can be printed with the spaced-apart second print image elements (14; 12) using the second coating medium (13) that contains magnetic particles, and wherein a drying and/or curing device (51) positioned upstream of the second printing couple (31; 32) is associated with or positioned downstream of the first magnetic cylinder (41) in the transport path, by means of which device the coating medium (11) containing magnetic particles of the first print image elements (12) printed by the first printing couple (21; 22) is and/or can be dried and/or cured at least superficially and/or at least each partially.
Printing press and method for producing printed products
A printing press has at least one printing unit that comprises one or more printing couples, by the use of which printing press, sheet-format substrate can be printed on at least one side in at least one printing nip. The printing press has at least one product receiving unit, in which the printed sheet-format substrate can be collected to form bundles of products or intermediate products. A rotatable cooling cylinder, for guiding or conveying the sheet-format substrate, is located upstream of the product receiving unit in the substrate path. At least one first electrode is arranged on, and is directed towards the substrate path section that runs over a circumferential section of the cooling cylinder. When an electric voltage is applied to the substrate path, substrate being guided along the substrate path past the electrode is or can be electrostatically charged.
Sheet cooling system for a printing device
A multi-sheet cooling buffer suitable for use in a printing device and a method of sheet processing with the cooling buffer are described. The cooling buffer includes an inlet and an outlet and a sheet cooling mechanism. An array of cooling stations, intermediate the inlet and the outlet, are each configured to receive print media sheets independently from the inlet and direct cooled sheets towards the outlet. In the cooling buffer, multiple print media sheets are able to be cooled contemporaneously in respective ones of the cooling stations.

Methods of making surface materials with embedded images
The disclosure relates to methods of manufacturing surface materials for construction or manufacturing use and the surface materials produced by such methods. Substrate materials, such as synthetic or engineered stone or fiber-reinforced resinous panels, can be formed in conventional ways such as casting, molding, or pressing. Layers are printed onto substrate materials to form textures, which may include inks to selectively color the printed texture, thereby enabling a wide variety of high-resolution appearances. A clear, protective topcoat is then applied to the surface materials and cured to provide a finished material.
