System and method for mitigating trailing edge voids in flexo printing

Methods, systems, and non-transitory memory media embodying computer readable instructions for minimizing voids in front of a trailing edge of a solid rendition or linework print region printed using a photocurable flexographic printing plate having a printing surface corresponding to information in an image file. At least one solid rendition or linework image region corresponding to the solid rendition or linework print region has a pattern of on and off single pixels that correspond to openings formed by an imager in a mask layer of the plate. Micro-screen openings in an edge region of the solid rendition or linework mask region are imaged with a different size than micro-screen openings in a center region of the solid rendition or linework mask region.

Printing apparatus

A decorator (10) for printing onto cylindrical structures (18) has a plurality of inkers (12). Each inker (12) has a pair of opposing frame plates (40, 48). A printing plate (204) is affixed to a printing plate cylinder (200) carried by a rotational printing plate cylinder shaft (202). The printing plate shaft (202) is disposed between the opposing frame plates (40, 48). A main shaft (38) supports the inker (12) on the decorator (10) such that the pair of opposing frame plates (40, 48) are slidable along a length of the main shaft (38). A lateral adjustment servomotor (220) acts on a corresponding inker (212) to impart a movement by the inker (12) along the length of the main shaft (38).

A METHOD OF PRINTING ON WORKPIECES AND A WORKPIECE PRINTING SYSTEM
20250360740 · 2025-11-27 · ·

A method of printing on workpieces comprising placing a workpiece in one of a plurality of holders provided spaced apart on a conveyer and moving the holders forward. The method comprises obtaining a first image of the workpiece in the holder, the first printing station comprising a printing head adjustable relative to the conveyer, and determining, based on the first image, the actual position of the workpiece in the holder. Further, the method comprises calculating a printing position of the printing head relative to the holder for positioning the print in a predetermined desired position on the workpiece, based on the predetermined desired position of the print on the workpiece and the determined actual position of the workpiece in the holder. The method also comprises adjusting the position of the printing head to the calculated printing position and printing a print on the workpiece.

SOFTWARE-BASED METHOD FOR OPERATOR GUIDANCE FOR PRINTING MACHINES

A software-based method for operator guidance in the graphics industry transmits one or more operating steps to an operator via an operator interface, in particular optically and/or acoustically, by using at least one computer. The at least one computer receives data from one or more printing orders, prepares the data of the printing orders for processing by at least one printing material processing machine and thereby calculates manual operating steps as a function of the properties of the printing material processing machine processing a printing order. The operating steps to be performed manually are optically or/and acoustically transmitted to the operator of the printing material processing machine through the operating interface with a time for performance.

A sheet embellishing system performs embellishment on a sheet while conveying the sheet. The sheet embellishing system includes a varnish-applying unit that applies varnish having ultraviolet (UV) curability onto the sheet, a UV irradiation unit that irradiates the varnish on the sheet by UV rays, and a control device. The control device acquires, from a storage unit that stores adhesivity-related information that is information relating to adhesivity between the varnish on the sheet and a transfer material that is to be transferred into the varnish on the sheet, and a value regarding a control item of the sheet embellishing system, in a correlated manner, a value of the control item of which the adhesivity-related information corresponds to the adhesivity-related information of a current job, and executes predetermined processing using the value of the control item that is acquired.
