PRINTER ADAPTERS FOR HOLDING FANFOLDS OF MEDIA AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF
Described herein are novel printer adapters and systems and methods thereof that include techniques and structures for converting a desktop or compact printer configured to print onto rolls of media into a desktop or compact printer configured to print onto fanfolds of media. In other words, described herein are novel printer adapters and systems and methods thereof for converting a roll printer to a fanfold printer.
TECHNIQUE FOR MARKING AN OBJECT
A device for providing a marking arranged or arrangeable around an object includes: a mechanical interface for releasably or irreversibly mounting the device to a printer; a material interface for receiving a print medium, which is printed by the printer using a print head, as a printed product in a longitudinal direction; at least one eccentric supported at the material interface to be pivotable about a pivot axis; and at least one print head actuator for moving the at least one eccentric to a first pivot position and to a second pivot position different from the first pivot position to provide the marking originating from the printed product. The eccentric, in a state of the device mounted to the printer using the mechanical interface, moves the print head and the print medium towards each other into a printing position for printing the print medium when the eccentric moves.
PRINTER FOR PRINTING HISTOLOGY LABORATORY CONSUMABLE ARTICLES
A printer for printing on unused histology-laboratory consumable articles including an optical reading apparatus which reads an image pattern of a histology-laboratory consumable article to be printed on, generates analog or digital image signals relating to the image pattern that has been read, and transfers the image signals to a control apparatus of the printer which evaluates the received image signals and as a function of the evaluation result establishes at least one processing step for the further processing of the histology-laboratory consumable article with regard to the quality of the impression to be printed.
PRINTED MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRINTED MATERIAL
A printed material includes: a recording medium having a pressure-bonding surface on which an image portion and a pressure phase transition layer are formed, the recording medium being folded upon the recording medium and pressure-bonded; or a recording medium having a pressure-bonding surface on which an image portion and a pressure phase transition layer are formed and an additional recording medium, the recording medium and the additional recording medium being stacked and pressure-bonded together. When the printed material is unfolded into an unfolded medium by peeling pressure-bonded surfaces of the printed material off from each other and a surface of the unfolded medium that corresponds to the pressure-bonded surfaces of the printed material is observed, an exposed area ratio EA of the pressure phase transition layer in an outer edge portion E located in a location corresponding to at least one of edges of the printed material is smaller than an exposed area ratio IA of the pressure phase transition layer in a region other than the outer edge portion E.
Printer with vertically extended printing path
A printer includes a vertical type main body accommodating a printing portion that prints an image onto a print medium transported along a vertically oriented printing path, including an outlet through which the print medium is discharged. A depth of the main body may be less than a width and a height of the main body. The printer may further include a stand supporting the main body such that the main body is rotatable forward and backward, a discharge guide mounted to the main body to be rotatable in a vertical direction and guiding the print medium discharged from the outlet forward, and an elastic member applying an elastic force to the discharge guide in a direction in which the discharge guide is rotated upward.

TREATING A FIBROUS MATERIAL FOR PRINTING
An apparatus and method for treating a sheet fibrous material to be printed with ink. The apparatus includes a conveyor belt movable along a closed path including an operative section defining a plurality of bends, an inlet station that receives the sheet fibrous material and adheres a first side of the material to an exposed surface of the conveyor belt, a drying station placed at the operative section and configured to at least partially dry the sheet fibrous material, and an applicator for applying a wet treatment agent to the material prior to drying.
NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM AND PORTABLE DEVICE
A non-transitory computer-readable medium having a computer program readable by a computer of a portable device connectable to an image input device and image output device and including a memory storing external programs activated by the computer program, the computer program causes the portable device to perform: receiving a user operation on a first screen including first objects corresponding to the external programs; determining the designated program when the first object is designated; when the designated program has a first function of executing processing for the input data, instructing the image input device to execute an input operation and performing first post-processing; and when the designated program has the second function of enabling a user to designate the output data, performing pre-processing and controlling the image output device to execute output operation for the output data.
Printer encoder adapted for positioning aboard a mobile unit
A printer/encoder system is provided for mounting to a mobile unit, such as a forklift-type vehicle. The printer/encoder system is adapted for printing and encoding one or more media units that may be stored in a media supply assembly of the printer/encoder system. The printer/encoder system may be mounted to the mobile unit using a mobile unit mounting assembly having a shock resistance system for protecting at least portions of the printer/encoder system from mechanical shocks or vibrations that are commonly associated with mobile unit movement. The printer/encoder system may include an encoder assembly structured to encode a transponder, such as a radio frequency identification (RFID) transponder, on a media unit. The printer/encoder system may include an encoder assembly having a modular design.
