The information processing device includes: an acquisition unit acquiring characteristic information of the paint, a print condition in printing by the printing device, and image data representing an image printed by the printing device; and a determination unit determining whether execution of follow-up irradiation, which is additional ultraviolet irradiation, is needed or not, after the printing of the image involving ultraviolet irradiation by the irradiation unit, based on the characteristic information, the print condition, and the image data.
IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS
There is provided an image recording apparatus including: a casing; a conveyor positioned inside the casing and configured to convey a sheet in a conveying direction; a recording part positioned inside the casing and configured to record an image, with an ink, on the sheet conveyed by the conveyor; a heater positioned inside the casing, on a downstream side in the conveying direction of the recording part, and configured to heat at least one of the sheet and the ink; a reading part positioned inside the casing, on the downstream side in the conveying direction of the heater, and configured to optically read the image recorded on the sheet; and a blower positioned inside the casing and configured to generate an air current toward the reading part and toward the sheet located at a position on the downstream side in the conveying direction of the heater.
COATING DEVICE
The present disclosure is drawn to a coating device and a method of manufacturing a coated media substrate. The coating device can comprise a pre-moisturizer and pre-heater unit to apply heat and moisture to a media substrate; a coating composition applicator to apply a wet coating composition to the media substrate after it has been heated and moisturized by the pre-moisturizer and pre-heater unit; and a dryer to receive the media substrate having the wet coating composition applied thereto and to remove moisture, thereby generating a coated media substrate.
LIQUID EJECTING DEVICE, AND LIQUID EJECTING METHOD
A liquid ejecting device performing printing by ejecting liquid onto a medium in a printing region, the liquid ejecting device including an ejecting unit including a first ejecting unit ejecting the liquid onto the medium, and a second ejecting unit ejecting a reaction liquid containing a coagulant for coagulating a component in the liquid, a transport unit configured to transport the medium, a jam detector configured to detect a jam of the medium, and a control unit configured to control the ejecting unit, and the transport unit, wherein when the jam is detected in the jam detector, the control unit causes the transportation of the medium by the transport unit to stop, and causes the liquid, the reaction liquid, or the liquid and the reaction liquid to be ejected in the printing region from the first ejecting unit, and the second ejecting unit.
IMAGE-FORMING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR APPLYING VARNISH
An image-forming device includes a printing portion that forms images on the media being transported using ink, a varnish application portion that applies aqueous varnish to the media on which the images are formed, a treatment portion that performs a treatment on the media so that a stickiness evaluation value which is a stickiness evaluation value indicating a degree of stickiness of the aqueous varnish applied to the media when the media to which the aqueous varnish is applied are output from the varnish application portion and is derived using a damped vibration percentage of a pendulum caused to do pendulum motions from an arbitrary location of the media to which the aqueous varnish is applied as a pivot reaches 0.24 or less, and an accumulation portion that accumulates the media to which the aqueous varnish is applied and on which the treatment is performed.
Image forming apparatus using a pre-processing liquid and a post-processing liquid, and an image forming method using a pre-processing liquid and a post-processing liquid
Disclosed is an image forming apparatus including an image forming unit that ejects droplets from an image forming apparatus, and forms an image on a surface of a printing medium, a pre-processing unit that applies a pre-processing liquid to the surface of the printing medium before the image is formed by the image forming unit, and a post-processing unit that applies a post-processing liquid different from the pre-processing liquid to the surface of the printing medium after the image is formed by the image forming unit. The pre-processing unit applies an amount of the pre-processing liquid which is determined based on a type of the printing medium and the post-processing unit applies an amount of the post-processing liquid which is determined based on the type of the printing medium.
Printing system and method
There is disclosed a method of printing onto the surface of a substrate, which method comprises i) coating a donor surface with a monolayer of particles, ii) treating the substrate surface to render at least selected regions tacky, and iii) contacting the substrate surface with the donor surface to cause particles to transfer from the donor surface only to the tacky regions of the substrate surface. After printing on a substrate, the donor surface returns to the coating station where the continuity of the monolayer is restored by recovering with fresh particles the regions of the donor surface exposed by the transfer of particles to the substrate.
