PRINTER
A printer according to an embodiment includes a conveying unit, a holding unit, a supporting unit, a second detecting unit, and a control unit. The conveying unit conveys paper. The holding unit includes a light emitting unit configured to radiate light and a first detecting unit configured to detect the light reflected on the paper. The supporting unit supports the holding unit to be movable in an orthogonal direction orthogonal to a conveying direction of the paper. The second detecting unit is disposed on an opposite side of the light emitting unit across a paper conveying path, on which the conveying unit conveys the paper, and detects the light radiated by the light emitting unit. The control unit determines, based on a detection result of the second detecting unit, whether the light emitting unit is present in a position opposed to the second detecting unit.
MULTIDIMENSIONAL PRINT, CUT, AND CRAFT DEVICE
Apparatuses, systems, and methods are disclosed for a multidimensional print, cut, and craft device. A device includes a housing, a gantry coupled to the housing, a tool housing movably coupled to the gantry, a tool holder coupled to the tool housing, and a material platform. The tool housing is movable in three dimensions in response to the gantry being actuated to craft a material placed on the material platform using a tool placed in the tool holder.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRIMMING A PRINT SHEET, AND REGISTERING THE LOCATION OF AN IMAGE
An apparatus and method are provided for trimming a print sheet and registering the location of an image on the print sheet. The apparatus may include a sensor system arranged to detect a guide line on the print sheet to align the print sheet relative to a cutter. The sensor system emits first and second light beams through the print sheet, and a controller is configured to detect the presence of the guide line through the light beams to align the guide line on the print sheet relative to the cutter. The apparatus may also include a vacuum chamber extending through a plate, with a float positioned within the vacuum chamber. In a first configuration, a vacuum is drawn in the chamber moving the float within the vacuum chamber away from the base such that a print sheet is moveably receivable between the plate and the base. In a second configuration, a positive pressure is created in the chamber moving the float within the vacuum chamber in a direction towards the base to contact a print sheet positioned between the plate and the base.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes a sheet feeder, a carriage, a cutter, a cutter unit, and a controller. A first standby position and a second standby position are disposed on both ends of a range of movement of the carriage. The carriage does not contact the cutter unit at each of the first standby position and the second standby position. The controller is configured to control the carriage and the cutter unit to overlappingly move. In an image recording condition in which images are consecutively recorded in a plurality of pages on a sheet, the controller is configured to change a direction of movement of the carriage at a leading end of a page so that the direction of movement of the carriage is the same as a direction of movement of the cutter unit at a sheet cutting position at which the cutter cuts the sheet.
Printing apparatus, control method of printing apparatus, and storage medium
The present invention relates to a printing apparatus including: a conveyance roller; and a slitter unit configured to cut a printing medium, which is conveyed by the conveyance roller, wherein the slitter unit includes a cutting mechanism including an upper movable blade and a lower movable blade, each of which is in a round shape, and configured to cut the printing medium at a contact point of the upper movable blade and the lower movable blade, a driving unit configured to rotate the upper movable blade and the lower movable blade, and a control unit configured to control a driving amount of the driving unit, and wherein the control unit controls the driving amount of the driving unit such that a movement speed of the upper movable blade and the lower movable blade passing through the contact point becomes greater than a conveyance speed of the printing medium.
LABEL IMAGING AND CUTTING
The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for imaging and cutting a label from a linerless label substrate 6, the substrate 6 comprising: a paper or polymeric film base layer; a colour change layer, incorporating a colour change compound operable to change colour in response to illumination by a laser 1; an adhesive layer; and a release layer adapted to have low adherence to the adhesive layer. The label substrate 6 is transported from a storage reel to an imaging area. At the imaging area, the label substrate 6 is selectively illuminated by laser 1 to form an image in the colour change layer. Subsequently, further laser illumination is used to cut the label substrate 6 thereby providing a single label for application to an object. The invention is characterised in that the laser spot size is varied for imaging and cutting.
Ticket production device and ticket production method
A ticket production device that cuts continuous recording paper printed with information and produces a ticket includes a paper conveyance means that conveys the recording paper through a paper conveyance path; a printing means that prints information on the recording paper conveyed by the paper conveyance means; a paper cutting means that cuts the recording paper on which information was printed into a ticket of a specific length; a paper position detection means that detects the position of the recording paper waiting at a paper exit; and a control means that integrally controls these other means. When the paper position detection means detects the position of the recording paper changed, the control means operates the paper cutting means and produces a ticket based on the detection result from the paper position detection means.
PRINTED MATTER CREATING DEVICE PERFORMING ADJUSTMENT OF ON DOTS IN CONNECTING PART OF FIRST PRINT AND SECOND PRINT
A printed matter creating device includes a controller configured to: acquire print data; form a first print on a printing medium while conveying the printing medium, the first print being based on first ON dots in the acquired print data; interrupt the conveyance of the printing medium after forming the first print; cut the printing medium after interrupting the conveyance; and form a second print on the printing medium while conveying the printing medium after cutting the printing medium, the second print being based on second ON dots in the acquired print data. The print data includes a specific print data corresponding to a connecting part connecting the first print and the second print. Based on the acquired print data, the controller adjusts at least one of: aspects of the first ON dots in the specific print data; and aspects of the second ON dots in the specific print data.
