An image forming apparatus includes: a feed tray accommodating a roll body, a first sheet-shaped medium being rolled in a roll shape as the roll body; and a feed roller configured to apply a conveying force to the first sheet-shaped medium unrolled from the roll body and to feed the first sheet-shaped medium from the feed tray. A printing apparatus capable of performing printing on a plurality of kinds of sheets, comprising a print unit configured to perform printing on a sheet, a feed unit configured to feed a sheet toward the print unit, and a control unit configured to, in a case of successively performing printing on a plurality of sheets by the print unit, control the feed unit to perform overlapped feeding in which a succeeding sheet is fed such that a trailing end portion of a preceding sheet and a leading end portion of the succeeding sheet overlap, wherein, in a case of executing the overlapped feeding, the control unit makes a predetermined notification based on a comparison result of a length of the succeeding sheet with a threshold value corresponding to a sheet kind of the succeeding sheet.

A printing apparatus includes a storage unit for storing information indicating an orientation of a sheet stacked in a sheet stacking unit, a determination unit that determines whether to print an image in a first orientation corresponding to a case where the sheet is conveyed with a short side thereof as a leading edge from the sheet stacking unit, or to print the image in a second orientation corresponding to a case where the sheet is conveyed with a long side thereof as the leading edge from the sheet stacking unit, according to a setting value based on an operation of a user in a case where the information indicating the orientation of the sheet stacked in the sheet stacking unit is not stored in the storage unit.

There is provided a recording apparatus including a liquid jetting unit, a container unit, a receiving unit, a conveyance unit and a controller. The controller is configured to carry out: determining whether or not it is necessary to stop and dry the liquid jetted recording medium in the conveyance path and controlling the conveyance unit to stop the recording medium in the conveyance path under a condition that the controller determines that it is necessary to dry the recording medium.

There is provided a recording apparatus including a liquid jetting unit, a container unit and a receiving unit for a recording medium, a conveyance unit, and a controller. The controller carries out: determining whether or not it is necessary to stop and dry the recording medium in a conveyance path, determining whether or not a first length of the recording medium along the conveyance direction is equal to or larger than a predetermined value, when it is necessary to dry the recording medium, and controlling the conveyance unit to convey the recording medium to a switchback path by reversing the conveyance direction and stop the recording medium in a state of being at least partially within the switchback path, and then to cause the receiving unit to receive the recording medium, when it is determined that the first length is equal to or larger than the predetermined value.

An image forming apparatus includes a control unit that generates a valid region signal corresponding to the length of a paper sheet of a regular size in the conveyance direction thereof, and performs control to form an image on the paper sheet based on the valid region signal, wherein, when an image is formed on a long paper sheet having a longer length than the paper sheet of the regular size, the control unit generates the valid region signal in each channel, performs control for generating the next valid region signal in a period during which the valid region signal is not generated in any of the channels, generates a continuous valid region signal corresponding to the long paper sheet by combining the valid region signals in the channels, and performs control to form an image by reading out image data based on the continuous valid region signal.

A printing apparatus includes a storage unit for storing information indicating an orientation of a sheet stacked in a sheet stacking unit, a determination unit that determines whether to print an image in a first orientation corresponding to a case where the sheet is conveyed with a short side thereof as a leading edge from the sheet stacking unit, or to print the image in a second orientation corresponding to a case where the sheet is conveyed with a long side thereof as the leading edge from the sheet stacking unit, according to a setting value based on an operation of a user in a case where the information indicating the orientation of the sheet stacked in the sheet stacking unit is not stored in the storage unit.
