The toilet seat locking device disclosed herein may comprise a toilet lid cover secured to a toilet by a keyed or padlocked locking mechanism so that it cannot be removed without the appropriate key, code, or combination. The toilet seat locking device may comprise any appropriate flexible, resilient material, and may attach securely to a toilet base by wrapping an adjustable strap around the base. The material of construction of the toilet seat locking device may comprise reusable, waterproof, and antimicrobial characteristics so as to provide additional functional advantages to the device.

A toilet seat lighting apparatus 10 is provided so that and individual can enter a bathroom at night to use the toilet 12 which provides light and allows the user to determine if the toilet seat 20 is up or down without turning on the bathroom light. The apparatus is provided with a motion sensor circuit 30 which detects motion when an individual enters the bathroom and a pressure sensor circuit 40 which is activated by the motion sensor circuit. Once the pressure sensor circuit 40 is activated it will activate switch 72 which in turn will illuminate a red light 26 to indicate the toilet seat 20 is down or a green light 28 to indicate the seat 20 is up.

A toilet cover plate includes a seat ring including a seat ring hole disposed at a middle portion of the seat ring and includes a seat ring sealing element disposed at a bottom portion of the seat ring. The seat ring sealing element includes a first sealing strip configured to seal a toilet body of a toilet. The toilet cover plate also includes a seat cover, including a seat cover sealing ring disposed at a bottom portion of the seat cover and configured to seal the seat ring. When the seat ring is closed to cover the toilet body, the first sealing strip is contacted with the toilet body. When the seat cover is closed to cover the seat ring, the seat cover sealing ring is contacted with the seat ring.

A device is attached to a toilet bowl seat, and has an inlet, an outlet and a body portion. The inlet is shaped as a funnel. The toilet bowl seat includes a central opening and an upper surface that can support a seated user thereon. The body portion is disposed on an underside of the toilet bowl seat, such that the inlet is at the front, and the outlet is disposed over the bowl of the toilet. The inlet faces radially outward from the toilet bowl. The body portion is connected to the inlet funnel, and is formed as a hollow tubular body which is in communication with the outlet. The toilet bowl seat is connected to the toilet bowl via a hinge that allows a user to select the angle of the toilet bowl seat relative to the toilet bowl.

A gas sensor system is for use in, or in the vicinity of, a toilet, for detecting a target gas. A gas sensor detects a concentration of at least the target gas and a further, reference, gas which is received from a controlled gas release device. These concentrations are processed to obtain a concentration of the target gas relative to the concentration of the further gas by combining a change in the detected concentration of the target gas, a change in the detected concentration of the further gas, the sensitivity of the gas sensor system to the target gas and the sensitivity of the gas sensor system to the further gas. This approach avoids the need for extensive calibration operations to tune the sensor response to the environment in which it is used.
