A cartridge to be installed in a tape printing device includes: a cartridge case having a cartridge-side tape ejection port; a tape path that feeds a printing tape toward the cartridge-side tape ejection port; a platen roller that applies a feeding force to the printing tape; and an electrode part. When seen from a front side in an installation direction of the cartridge, a feeding angle that is an angle formed by a feeding direction of the printing tape at a portion at which the feeding force is applied to the printing tape by the platen roller when the printing tape is fed with respect to a direction in which the electrode part receives a force from a contact terminal part is less than 45°.

A printing device includes a printing cassette, and a platen roller. The printing cassette includes: a print tape; an input part into which a drive force is to be inputted; an output part rotatable about a rotational axis extending in a first direction; a transmission mechanism for transmitting the drive force from the input part to the output part; and a case. The case houses therein at least a part of the print tape, at least a part of the input part, at least a part of the output part, and at least part of the transmission mechanism. At least a part of the output part is positioned outside the case. The output part is positioned inside an outer edge of the case in a projection view where the output part and the case are projected onto a plane perpendicular to the first direction.

A printing device includes a printing cassette, and a platen roller. The printing cassette includes: a print tape; an input part into which a drive force is to be inputted; an output part rotatable about a rotational axis extending in a first direction; a transmission mechanism for transmitting the drive force from the input part to the output part; and a case. The case houses therein at least a part of the print tape, at least a part of the input part, at least a part of the output part, and at least part of the transmission mechanism. At least a part of the output part is positioned outside the case. The output part is positioned inside an outer edge of the case in a projection view where the output part and the case are projected onto a plane perpendicular to the first direction.

An example of the disclosed printer including a housing defining a ribbon receiving area configured to receive a ribbon cartridge, wherein the housing defines a media receiving area configured to receive a supply of media. The printer further including a ribbon cover configured to move between a closed ribbon position and an opened ribbon position. The printer further including a ribbon cartridge retaining feature configured to engage at least part of the ribbon cartridge. The printer further including a media cover configured to move between a closed media position and an opened media position wherein the media cover comprises an electromagnetic shield.

An example of the disclosed printer including a housing defining a ribbon receiving area configured to receive a ribbon cartridge, wherein the housing defines a media receiving area configured to receive a supply of media. The printer further including a ribbon cover configured to move between a closed ribbon position and an opened ribbon position. The printer further including a ribbon cartridge retaining feature configured to engage at least part of the ribbon cartridge. The printer further including a media cover configured to move between a closed media position and an opened media position wherein the media cover comprises an electromagnetic shield.

A thermal-transfer printer including a movable member and a head holder, is provided. A first axis of the movable member is located to be closer to a second side of the thermal-transfer printer in an orthogonal direction than a first center being a position of a center of a first spool, and higher than a lower-end position, which is lower than the first center and a second center being a position of a center of the second spool, and is apart from the first center and the second center for a half distance being a predetermined distance divided equally by two. A second axis being a pivot axis of the head holder is located to be closer to the first side in the orthogonal direction than the first center, closer to the second side in the orthogonal direction than the second center, and higher than the lower-end position.

A thermal-transfer printer including a movable member and a head holder, is provided. A first axis of the movable member is located to be closer to a second side of the thermal-transfer printer in an orthogonal direction than a first center being a position of a center of a first spool, and higher than a lower-end position, which is lower than the first center and a second center being a position of a center of the second spool, and is apart from the first center and the second center for a half distance being a predetermined distance divided equally by two. A second axis being a pivot axis of the head holder is located to be closer to the first side in the orthogonal direction than the first center, closer to the second side in the orthogonal direction than the second center, and higher than the lower-end position.

An integrated cartridge is provided, which includes a printing medium receiving groove in which a printing medium is loaded; a feeding mounting hole and a take-up bobbin mounting hole are formed; a feeding bobbin mounted in the feeding bobbin mounting hole; a take-up bobbin mounted in the take-up bobbin mounting hole; and a first opening disposed between the feeding bobbin and the take-up bobbin configured to draw out the printing medium.

An integrated cartridge is provided, which includes a printing medium receiving groove in which a printing medium is loaded; a feeding mounting hole and a take-up bobbin mounting hole are formed; a feeding bobbin mounted in the feeding bobbin mounting hole; a take-up bobbin mounted in the take-up bobbin mounting hole; and a first opening disposed between the feeding bobbin and the take-up bobbin configured to draw out the printing medium.

A printer includes a printing unit configured to print on the print medium, a ribbon shaft configured to hold the ink ribbon, a partition member provided swingably between a close position where gears that transmit drive force to the ribbon shaft mesh with each other and an open position where meshing between the gears is released, and a lock mechanism configured to hold the partition member with respect to the printing unit when the partition member is placed at the close position.
