When one of directions in which a carriage moves is a first scanning direction, and the other one of the directions is a second scanning direction, a tube extends in the first scanning direction, is bent in the second scanning direction with a curved portion, and is coupled to the carriage. The tube has a first portion, which is an immovable portion that does not move as the carriage reciprocates, and a second portion, which is a movable portion that moves as the carriage reciprocates. The first portion is fixed to a mounting plate, which is an example of a fixing section, the tube and a supporting member are held together by a holding member, and the mounting plate has a stepped portion, which is an example of a contact preventing portion configured to prevent contact with the holding member holding the movable portion of the tube.

PRINTER CARRIAGE ARRANGEMENTS

It is hereby disclosed a carriage arrangement, in particular, a carriage arrangement suitable for a printing system comprising: a carriage; a carriage beam; and a drive mechanism; wherein the carriage is to move along a longitudinal direction of the carriage beam upon action by the drive mechanism and wherein the carriage arrangement comprises a beam compensation mechanism to exert a variable compensating force on the carriage beam, the variable compensating force depending on a deformation amount of the carriage beam.

In the invention, pipes and the like are guided in parallel to a second horizontal direction according to collective movements of printing bar units while being stored and protected by a protecting/guiding member arranged outside and adjacent to a body frame. In this way, breakage of the pipes and the like during the collective movements of printing bar units is reliably prevented. Moreover, the pipes and the like stored in the protecting/guiding member move outside the body frame and are not present inside the body frame. As a result, a work space can be secured without being limited by the collective movements of the printing bar units to the maintenance space.
