MEDIA PROCESSING DEVICE WITH ENHANCED MEDIA AND RIBBON LOADING AND UNLOADING FEATURES
An example disclosed printer includes a base; a lid hingedly attached to the base movable between a closed position in which the lid is secured to the base, and an open position in which the lid is at least partially separated from the base; a cavity defined between the lid and the base, wherein the cavity is inaccessible when the lid is in the closed position and the cavity is accessible when the lid is in the open position; a ribbon positioning assembly disposed within the cavity that is pivotably attached to at least one of the lid or the base wherein the ribbon positioning assembly is configured to move between a printing position when the lid is in the closed position, and an accessible position when the lid is in the open position, wherein the ribbon positioning assembly comprises a ribbon tensioning mechanism.
TAPE CARTRIDGE
A tape cartridge is detachably installed on a cartridge installation portion of a tape printing apparatus having a platen supporting shaft and a printing head. A base end of the platen supporting shaft is fixed to the cartridge installation portion at one end of the platen supporting shaft. The tape cartridge includes a platen roller, an upper bearing portion, a lower bearing portion, and a fitting portion. The platen roller includes an upper engagement portion and a lower engagement portion. The upper bearing portion rotatably supports the upper engagement portion and restricts movement of the upper engagement portion. The lower bearing portion rotatably supports the lower engagement portion and restricts movement of the lower engagement portion. A tip end of the platen supporting shaft passing through the platen roller fits in the fitting portion when the tape cartridge is installed on the cartridge installation portion.

Adhesive Tape Cartridge, Adhesive Tape Roll, and Manufacturing Method of Adhesive Tape Roll
The disclosure discloses an adhesive tape cartridge including a housing and an adhesive tape roll. The adhesive tape roll is disposed in the housing and winds an adhesive tape. The adhesive tape includes a first adhesive layer, a second adhesive layer, and a separation material layer. The first adhesive layer comprises an adhesive with a first pigment added. The second adhesive layer is disposed on one side of the first adhesive layer in a thickness direction and comprises an adhesive with a second pigment added. The separation material layer is disposed on the one side of the second adhesive layer in the thickness direction. A volume ratio of the second pigment in the second adhesive layer is smaller than a volume ratio of the first pigment in the first adhesive layer.
Ribbon supply mounting
A mounting of a ribbon supply on a re-useable cartridge is described where the mounting is designed so that the supply friction, supply and control of the ribbon supply are substantially independent of the cartridge. When the supply rolls are initially mounted on the cartridge, the supply rolls are frictionally engaged with the cartridge to reduce the tendency for the supply rolls to rotate or move prior to being loaded into the printer, which would loosen the ribbon material by unwinding, thereby reducing slack in the ribbon material. When the cartridge is loaded into a card personalization machine, features on the card personalization machine automatically reduce the frictional engagement between the supply rolls and the cartridge, permitting the supply rolls to rotate substantially freely relative to the cartridge so that the supply friction, supply and control are substantially independent of the cartridge.
