LEUCO DYE PASTEL MARKING DEVICE
A leuco dye pastel marking device for use with a substrate treated with an activator of the leuco dye, such that drawing upon the substrate will reveal a color, but drawing on a normal surface will have no visible effect. A solvent such as dimethyl adipate is used to store the leuco dye in a longer-lived, more stable, solid form, and varying hardnesses and consistencies may be achieved by the addition of 12 hydroxystearic acid and ethyl cellulose. The substrate may be treated selectively with the activator such that a texture, image, or hidden message is revealed by the application of the leuco dye pastel to the substrate. One or more substrates and one or more leuco dye pastel marking devices may be presented to a child as a coloring book with pastels that only visibly mark the coloring book and no other surface.
COLOR CHANGING EXPIRATION INDICATOR
A printer system includes a memory, a processor, and one or more printer heads. The processor determines a number of transmission layers and a number of barrier layers to use in a color changing expiration indicator based at least in part on a time period between a print date of the indicator and a received expiration date. The printer heads print a reactive layer onto print media, where at least a portion of the reactive layer is configured to migrate through the transmission layers. The printer heads also print the determined number of transmission layers and the determined number of barrier layers in alternation. The printer heads print a reactant layer that is configured to change color responsive to a reaction between the reactant layer and the reactive layer upon migration of the reactive layer through the transmission layers. The reaction is configured to occur on the received expiration date.
Inkjet printing method
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an inkjet-printed substrate, wherein a liquid treatment composition comprising at least one acid and an ink are deposited onto a substrate simultaneously or consecutively by inkjet printing, wherein the substrate comprises a coating layer comprising a salifiable alkaline or alkaline earth compound.
PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING A LASER MARKABLE PACKAGING
An offset printing process for manufacturing a laser markable packaging uses a laser markable offset ink and a laser markable varnish or a laser markable dispersion-lacquer in the process to provide a laser markable image or area on the packaging. The laser markable offset ink, offset varnish or offset dispersion-lacquer including a leuco dye and a metal free optothermal converting agent may be used in the offset printing process.
METHOD OF FORMING A STRUCTURE, STRUCTURE FORMING APPARATUS, COMPUTER READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM AND PROCESSING MEDIUM FOR FORMING A STRUCTURE
A structure forming apparatus includes a printing unit which prints a photo-thermal conversion material, a white material, and a coloring material in order on an expanding layer in an overlapping manner, where the expanding layer is expanded when heated with thermal energy of light. The apparatus also includes a heating unit which irradiates light on the expanding layer from a side of the coloring material to expand the expanding layer, and a controlling unit which sets a printing density of the photo-thermal conversion material lower by a level corresponding to a quantity of heat conducted from the coloring material than the printing density of the photo-thermal conversion material to be printed when the coloring material has no photo-thermal conversion characteristic in the case in which the coloring material has photo-thermal conversion characteristic, and prints the photo-thermal conversion material of the set printing density.
INK JET RECORDING METHOD AND INK JET RECORDING APPARATUS
Provided is an ink jet recording method including using an aqueous ink and a reaction liquid, in which ejection stability of the reaction liquid is excellent and a high-quality image can be recorded. Specifically, provided is an ink jet recording method including recording an image on a recording medium with an aqueous ink and an aqueous reaction liquid. The ink jet recording method includes a reaction liquid applying step and an ink applying step. An ejection head includes: an ejection element substrate including an ejection orifice configured to eject the reaction liquid; and a circulation flow path configured to circulate the reaction liquid between an inside and an outside of the ejection element substrate.
FISH IMPRINT KIT
A method for making an imprint of a surface of a fish, including supplying a fish and a fish imprint kit, where the fish imprint kit includes a developer-coated paper having a developer agent, a nonpigmented activation solution having an activation agent, an applicator, and a set of instructions for applying the activation solution to the surface of the fish with the applicator and making an imprint of the surface of the fish on the developer-coated paper, where the developer agent and activation agent are capable of reacting to produce color when combined. The method further includes applying the nonpigmented activation solution having the activation agent to a surface of the fish; and contacting the developer-coated paper having the developer agent with the surface of the fish such that the activation agent in the nonpigmented activation solution on the surface of the fish reacts with the developer agent of the developer-coated paper to produce color and form the imprint of the surface of the fish on the developer-coated paper. Applying the nonpigmented activation solution to the surface of the fish includes wiping the nonpigmented activation solution onto the surface of the fish with an absorbent material.
KNIT TEXTILES AND UPPERS, AND PROCESSES FOR MAKING THE SAME
Articles of wear having one or more textiles that include a low processing temperature polymeric composition and a high processing temperature polymeric composition, and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed. The low processing temperature polymeric composition and the high processing temperature polymeric composition can be selectively incorporated into a textile to provide one or more structural properties and/or other advantageous properties to the article. The textile can be thermoformed to impart such structural and/or other advantageous properties to the article of wear. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present disclosure.
INK JET RECORDING METHOD AND INK JET RECORDING APPARATUS
There is provided an ink jet recording method for recording an image on a recording medium with an aqueous ink and an aqueous reaction liquid containing a reactant that reacts with the aqueous ink. The aqueous ink contains a pigment dispersed by the action of a carboxylic acid group, a resin particle and a water-soluble organic solvent. The rate of increase in the particle size of the pigment dispersed by the action of the carboxylic acid group when the pigment comes into contact with the aqueous reaction liquid is 8.0 times or more. The amount of water absorbed by the recording medium from the start of contact to 30 msec.sup.1/2 in a Bristow method is 10 mL/m.sup.2 or less.
