The disclosure relates to methods of manufacturing surface materials for construction or manufacturing use and the surface materials produced by such methods. Substrate materials, such as synthetic or engineered stone or fiber-reinforced resinous panels, can be formed in conventional ways such as casting, molding, or pressing. Layers are printed onto substrate materials to form textures, which may include inks to selectively color the printed texture, thereby enabling a wide variety of high-resolution appearances. A clear, protective topcoat is then applied to the surface materials and cured to provide a finished material.

Label constructions comprise a first section and a second section that are laminate constructions of a card stock top surface that may include printed indicia, an adhesive layer disposed underneath the card stock, and a removable liner adhered to the adhesive layer and common to the first and second sections. The first section includes an RFID device. The first section may be configured once removed from the liner to fold on itself to form an RFID tag, or to form an RFID adhesive label. The second section once separately removed from the liner forms an adhesive label. The construction first and second sections are positioned adjacent one another and are formed during the same manufacturing process for purposes of manufacturing efficiency. The first and second sections may be treated to facilitate separate removal from the liner to provide labeling flexibility.

An inkjet printer for forming, on a base, an image layer and an adhesive layer on which foil is to be formed includes a first head, a second head, and processing circuitry. The first head discharges an ink for the image layer. The second head discharges inks for the adhesive layer including a first ink and a second ink. The second ink has a lower wet spreadability than a wet spreadability of the first ink. The processing circuitry controls the second head to form an image area included in the adhesive layer with the second ink in a case where a width of the image area is less than a threshold, and form the image area with the first ink in a case where the width of the image area is not less than the threshold.

Protective layer transfer sheet

To provide a protective layer transfer sheet that can produce a print having excellent abrasion resistance and an excellent glossiness. A protective layer transfer sheet 100 including a transfer layer 10 provided on one surface of a substrate 1, wherein the transfer layer 10 has a single-layer structure composed only of a protective layer 5 or a layered structure in which the protective layer 10 is located nearest to a side of the substrate 1, and the protective layer 5 contains a styrene resin and a particulate organofluorine compound.

Image forming system, image forming apparatus, and sheet processing device

An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus, a sheet processing device, and control circuitry. The image forming apparatus forms an image on a sheet. The sheet processing device performs post-processing on the sheet. The sheet processing device includes a first conveyance path through which the sheet is conveyed and subjected to the post-processing and a second conveyance path through which the sheet is conveyed without the post-processing. In response to an instruction of print jobs including both a print job of one or N copies subjected to the post-processing and a print job not subjected to the post-processing, the circuitry executes the job not subjected to the post-processing during execution of an M-th copy of the job subjected to the post-processing and causes the sheet to be conveyed through the second conveyance path, where N is two or greater and M satisfies 1≤M<N.
