METHOD OF IMPROVING ACTINIC CURE OF ENERGY CURABLE INKS AND COATINGS
Layers of energy curable inks and coatings containing little to no photoinitiator, are printed over or are covered with ink or coating layers that are not energy curable but do comprise a photoinitiator. All energy curable inks are then simultaneously cured when exposed to actinic radiation that passes through the ink or coating layers that are not energy curable but comprise photoinitiators.
MANUFACTURE OF AEROSOL CONTAINERS
A production line is for aerosol containers (AC) whose exterior surface is printed with inks in a predetermined pattern to form a desired design including both imagery and graphics. The line includes an inking station and a varnish application station through which aerosol containers successively pass. Inks are applied to containers at the inking station and a varnish to the inked exterior of the container at the varnish station. A LED light module (12) installed between the ink station and varnish station emits a light within a predetermined frequency range onto inked containers. The temperature produced by the LED light source is cooler than that of Uv light sources that could be used for the same purpose. The exterior surface of finished containers exhibit no lapping or discolorations and have improved scratch resistance.
ARCHIVAL PRINTED ARTICLES AND METHODS
Articles and methods for archival raised image printing is disclosed. The process includes modifying an electronic image, printing the image on a paper substrate to form a printed substrate, applying the printed substrate onto a barrier substrate via an applicator such that the applicator creates a wall around the outer edge of the image, coating the printed substrate with a varnish composition, and drying the printed substrate in a humidity controlled environment. This configuration provides an efficient system of archival printing to print raised images on an article.
Headstone assembly
A headstone assembly suitable to be placed on a memorial includes a frame and a mounting assembly. The frame defines a cavity and has a base panel having a plurality of slots. The frame an inner surface defining a groove extending along and inner perimeter of the frame. The mounting assembly is arranged inside the cavity and is connected to the frame to facilitate an attachment of the base panel with the surface. The mounting assembly includes a bottom panel and a mounting panel extending inside the groove and attached to the frame and the bottom panel. The mounting assembly also includes a plurality of T-nuts extending through the mounting panel inside a plurality of the holes of the bottom panel. The T-nuts ate adapted to receive a plurality of mounting bolts extending from the surface to facilitate the attachment of the frame to the surface.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CURING A COATING, AND LAMINATE OBTAINED THEREWITH
The present invention is related to a method of curing a coated product comprising a substrate and a UV-curable coating composition applied onto a surface of said substrate, the method comprising the steps of transporting said coated product, by means of a web path, into a curing unit comprising a rotating unit, preferably a cylindrical body, and a treatment area formed between said rotating unit and said web path, said rotating unit and said web path having an even surface, wherein said coated product when being transported through said treatment area contacts the rotating unit and the web path so that no free areas between the coated product and the cylindrical body and the web path are present in said treatment area, and UV-curing said coated product present in said treatment area.
Water-based electrically-insulating energy-curable fluids
Water based, energy curable ink jet compositions that have good insulating properties are described herein. The inventive water based energy curable ink jet compositions include a water soluble or water dispersible component polymerizable by free radical polymeration upon exposure to polymerizing radiation, wherein the cured ink jet compositions have good insulating properties, exhibited for example, by its breakdown voltage. Also described are electronic devices including ink jet-printed layers of the ink jet compositions.
Inkjet Printable Twist and/or Fold Wrap Films for Packaging Applications
The present invention relates to inkjet printable twist and/or fold wrap film for packaging applications, to inkjet printed twist and/or fold wrap film for packaging applications, to packaging including said inkjet printable or inkjet printed twist and/or fold wrap film, the use of the inkjet printable or inkjet printed twist and/or fold wrap film for as well as to the method of making a filled packaging.
Method and apparatus for producing a decorative workpiece and workpiece
The inventions relates to a method for producing a decorative workpiece with a structured surface comprising the following steps: (B) applying a first liquid lacquer having a coarse structuring over the entire surface, wherein a difference in thickness between thicker regions and thinner regions is at least 50 μm, in particular at least 100 μm; (E) applying a second liquid, at least partially transparent lacquer for producing a fine structuring in some regions. Furthermore, an apparatus for performing the method and a workpiece produced by the method are claimed.
Security paper, value document obtainable therefrom and method for manufacturing said paper and document
A security paper for manufacturing value documents has a planar substrate equipped on one surface with an anti-forgery means based on a carrier foil having an optically variable security feature. The anti-forgery means and a partial substrate area surrounding the anti-forgery means is furnished with a dirt-repellent radiation-curing first lacquer substantially not influencing the perceptibility of the optically variable security feature. The layer thickness of the lacquer lying is in a range of 0.7 to 2 micrometers. The radiation-curing first lacquer is may be a UV-cross-linking lacquer which after cross-linking is high-gloss. The substrate can be furnished on its surface lying outside the anti-forgery means with a dirt-repellent second lacquer and optionally partly overlaps the first lacquer in the region of the partial substrate area surrounding the anti-forgery means. The second lacquer involves either a physically drying, water-based dispersion lacquer, or a UV-cross-linking lacquer, and has a matt impression.
A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A BULLNOSE TILE AND A BULLNOSE TILE
A method for manufacturing a bullnose tile comprising the steps of: providing a ceramic tile that comprises a base body made of a ceramic material, wherein the base body has a main surface and a bullnose edge; providing a decorative layer on top of said bullnose edge, by inkjet printing a curable ink to form a dcor; curing said curable ink; wherein said curable ink, after printing, is in direct contact with the ceramic material of the base body.
