FOLDED BROCHURE WITH INTERNAL POUCH, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING BROCHURES
A brochure is made by folding a single sheet of paper along a plurality of parallel longitudinal fold lines to make an interim piece. The interim piece is conveyed in the direction of the longitudinal fold lines, and folded in a right-angle direction transverse to the first direction, along transverse fold lines perpendicular to the longitudinal fold lines. A pouch is placed inside of the interim piece without adhesive, as the interim piece is folded, and the interim piece is sealed to complete the brochure. The pouch is preferably placed over one of the transverse fold lines. A label can be applied to the brochure if desired.
BOOKBINDING SYSTEM
Problem: To make it possible to bind a large amount of booklets in a short period of time by using a book binding apparatus efficiently.
Solution: A book binding apparatus 10 includes a book binding part 11 which binds a booklet, a book binding control part 12 which controls the book binding part 11 based on book binding information, and a book binding apparatus side book binding information setting part 13 which sets the book binding information. A paper feeding apparatus 20 includes a feeding part 21 which feeds a recorded paper one sheet by one sheet, a feeding control part 22 which controls the feeding part 21 based on the book binding information, and a paper feeding apparatus side book binding information setting part 23 which sets the book binding information. The book binding apparatus 10 and the paper feeding apparatus 20 can be communicated with each other. Based on the book binding information set in the book binding apparatus side book binding information setting part 13 or the paper feeding apparatus side book binding information setting part 23, the recorded paper is fed from the paper feeding apparatus 20 to the book binding apparatus 10 one sheet by one sheet and the recorded papers are bundled and bound by the book binding apparatus 10.

COVER FEEDER AND METHOD FOR SUPPLYING BOOK COVERS
A cover feeder for providing book covers to a production unit of a book completion line includes a first receiving device for book covers of the same format, which can be positioned individually, in an overlapping flow and/or in a stack thereon, and a second receiving device that is arranged upstream of the first receiving device for a stack of book covers having different formats. The cover feeder includes a control unit to which information can be transmitted relating to the format and sequence of book covers in the stack of book covers having different formats, and a laterally adjustable centering device connected to the control unit for a defined lateral displacement and/or aligning of respectively one book cover that is separated out from the second receiving device and is positioned on the first receiving device.

CLAMP OPENING SYSTEM FOR A MACHINE FOR PRODUCING ADHESIVELY BONDED PRINTED PRODUCTS
A machine produces an adhesively bonded book block. The machine has a clamp chain equipped with spaced apart binder clamps, which are connected to a clamp opening system. The clamp opening system has a movable internal aid for a binder clamp and an external aid, which are operably connected together. The aids open clamping jaws of the binder clamp. At a loading location for the book block, the external aid is operated by a drive to execute pressing operation on the movable internal aid. The moveable internal aid achieves an opening of the clamping jaws depending on a thickness of the book block. A recoil force is established with the drive-related pressing operation, which is converted as a pressing force onto the book block in a running cycle.

SHEET BINDING SYSTEM, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS WITH SHEET BINDING SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF BINDING SHEET BUNDLE
A sheet binding unit includes a first sheet binder having first and second dentate uneven sheet binding elements to conduct a first sheet binding process by engaging each other by a prescribed meshing depth while sandwiching the sheet bundle therebetween to form a dentate unevenness on the sheet bundle at a first sheet binding portion of the sheet bundle, and a second sheet binder having third and fourth dentate uneven sheet binding elements to conduct a second sheet binding process by engaging each other by a greater meshing depth than that made by first and second dentate uneven sheet binding elements of the first sheet binder while sandwiching the sheet bundle therebetween to form a dentate unevenness on the sheet bundle at a second sheet binding portion different from the first sheet binding portion of the sheet bundle.

Distributed parallel processing system for make-on-demand book manufacturing
A bookmaking system includes sets of redundant cover printers and book block printers and a binder (or set of binders) for binding a printed cover page, printed by an assigned one of the set of redundant cover printers, and a corresponding set of printed pages for a book block, printed by an assigned one of the set of redundant book block printers, together to form a book. A transport mechanism connects the redundant printers and redundant cover printers with the binder. An assigned one of a plurality of book block buffers, intermediate the book block printers and the binders, stores the set of printed pages until the corresponding printed cover page is ready for binding; and/or an assigned one of a plurality of cover buffers, intermediate the cover printers and the binders, stores the printed cover page until binding can be performed.
