Self-cleaning features for extraction cleaners and attachments for extraction cleaners, such as accessory tools, wands, and/or hoses, are provided. The self-cleaning features are configured redirect cleaning fluid from a fluid supply system of the extraction cleaner into a working air or fluid recovery path of the extraction cleaner, including, but not limited to into the working air or fluid recovery path of a tool, wand, and/or hose of the extraction cleaner.

A surface cleaning apparatus including, a fluid storage container; an outlet for directing fluid from the fluid storage container onto a surface to be cleaned; and a valve configured to regulate the flow of fluid from the fluid storage container to the outlet and including: a body; and a member being moveable relative to the body between a first position and a second position and defining a flow path extending through a surface thereof; wherein the flow of fluid through the valve flows at a first rate when the member is in the first position and at a second rate and along the flow path when the member is in the second position, the second rate of flow being lower than the first rate of flow.

A surface cleaning apparatus having an upright assembly, a power source, and a coiled electrical cable. The upright assembly including a frame and a telescoping handle at last partially extending from the frame and movable between an extended position and a contracted position. The coiled electrical cable being provided within a portion of the telescoping handle and configured to uncoil or coil when the telescoping handle is moved between the extended position and the contracted position.

A surface cleaning apparatus having an upright assembly, a power source, and a coiled electrical cable. The upright assembly including a frame and a telescoping handle at last partially extending from the frame and movable between an extended position and a contracted position. The coiled electrical cable being provided within a portion of the telescoping handle and configured to uncoil or coil when the telescoping handle is moved between the extended position and the contracted position.

A vehicle with a carpet cleaning system comprises a plurality of operational units mounted within the vehicle, including a blower pump unit, a vacuum recovery tank unit, a reel and tank unit, and an auxiliary tank unit. The operational units are mounted on a stainless steel mounting frame that defines zones for mounting each of the operational units. The mounting frame having attachment points that align each of the respective operational units which facilitates the initial assembly of the unit. The mounting frame is secured to the floor through a minimal number of opening extending through the floor. The operational units are secured with a multiplicity of threaded connectors to the frame. The separation of the individual operational units from direct attachment to the floor dramatically reduces corrosion of the vehicle and equipment, facilitates the initial assembly and minimizes maintenance and repairs.

An extraction cleaner is provided with a removable recovery tank having a recovery container, a drain opening quick-empty valve, and an actuator assembly for emptying the recovery container. The drain opening can be provided on a lower portion of the recovery container. The actuator assembly can selectively open the valve. At least a portion of the actuator assembly can be provided on an upper portion of the recovery container.

The post-operation drying cycle can dry out components such as an agitator or brushroll, a brush chamber, a suction nozzle, a recovery tank, a filter, and any of the various conduits, ducts, and/or hoses fluidly coupling components of the recovery system together.
