A pen is provided that utilizes actuating components of a conventional push-button type ballpoint, but which are actuated in a novel and unique manner by the use of an externally mounted lever. The externally mounted and movable lever provides a unique attractiveness to the pen and simulates the lever action used with Early American Western rifles, which in addition to providing a function to the pens, provides an attractive and unique-looking pen which can be combined with other features. A conical nose can be formed of brass which would simulate the end of a bullet and a tubular member can be formed of wood simulating a rifle stock. Also various engraving such as used on many Early American Western rifles can be incorporated into the outer surface of tubular member.

A mechanical pencil and an operating method therefor. A position-based relationship of a tool body is determined by means of the displacement of an adjustment part provided in a sleeve. The tool body has two position-based states, which are retracted and propelled states, and the adjustment part achieves relative stability at the two position-based states by means of a positioning part or a positioning slot in the sleeve, a resetting part, and a control part. The resetting part is driven by the tool body to provide a continuous force to the adjustment part, so that the state of a displacement part on the adjustment part is relatively stable at a retracted position. When the displacement part moves in the positioning slot to a propelled position, the displacement part is limited by the control part, so that the state at the propelled position is relatively stable.

A pen system comprising a cover member joined to an adapter having an anterior end of an ink cartridge disposed therein is disclosed. A pen housing covers the ink cartridge and is sealed via a plug. In one embodiment, a slit divides a surface of the adapter to allow a collapse of the adapter, thus narrowing a height of the adapter, to allow insertion of the adapter into the cover member. A first and second annular groove are disposed at a center of the adapter, where each annular groove interfaces with a cover member annular ridge to define an open and closed position of the pen. In an alternate embodiment, an annular washer having an annular ridge is disposed in the cover member, in place of the cover member annular ridge, to interface with the first and second annular groove thus defining the open and closed positions of the pen.
