Method and device for structuring the surface of a hard material coated solid body by means of a laser
In the method for structuring at least one area of a solid body surface provided with a ta-C coating, by means of a first laser, preferably an excimer laser having pulse durations in the nanosecond range, a first structure is produced upon which a second, ripple-like structure is superposed by means of a second laser, preferably having pulse durations in the femtosecond range. Preferentially, the excimer laser structuring is carried out according to the mask projection technique and the femtosecond laser structuring according to the focus technique. This method allows the rational manufacture of very complex, extremely fraud-resistant authentication features and/or of esthetically attractive, optical diffraction effective colored patterns.
EMBOSSING STAMP AND PRINTING PLATE HOLDER FOR THE EMBOSSING STAMP
The invention relates to an embossing stamp, comprising at least a base body, in which laterally a receiving element for receiving a printing plate holder and on a further side an actuator are provided, and the actuator is designed in such a way that it acts directly or indirectly onto the receiving element, in particular onto the printing plate holder, where in the base body a rotating axle of the actuator is provided, characterised in that the insertable printing plate holder comprises a receiving element, preferably with an embossing ornament, and the receiving element provides at least a positioning recess for inserting positioning elements such as letters, symbols and/or elements. Furthermore, the invention also relates to a printing plate holder, a receiving element and a positioning element.
CRAFTWORK TOOLS AND KITS
A craftwork accessory may provide a portable and/or easy-to-use tool to help users' accurately and repeatedly apply stamp impressions and the like to items such as cardstock. The accessory may include a base portion, one or more elevated side portions and cover portion. The side portions may define a workspace for arranging the item. The cover portion may be movably attached to the base portion or a side portion, for example, by one or more hinges. In operation, the item and stamp may be aligned in the workspace and the cover portion may be pressed onto the stamp to stick the stamp to the cover portion. The cover may then be opened, the stamp may be inked, and the cover portion may be closed and pressed onto the item to stamp the item. The accessory may include alignment indicia on the base portion, side portions and/or cover portion to facilitate placement of the item and/or stamp. The accessory may also include fastening mechanisms, such as magnetic elements, to facilitate placement of the item and/or stamp.
Method for producing a hydrophobic or superhydrophobic surface topography
A method for producing a hydrophobic or superhydrophobic surface topography on a smooth or structured surface of a pressing tool in the form of a pressing plate, endless belt, or embossing roller for producing material plates, plastic films, separating films, PVC surfaces, and LVTs (luxury vinyl tiles), includes the following steps: preparing a surface template having a microstructure, making an impression of the surface using a resin, scanning the molded surface using a 3-D microscope, converting the digitalized data from the scanning process with depth measurement into grayscale bitmaps, using the grayscale bitmaps to control the machining process of an abrasive surface treatment or to apply a mask for chemically processing the pressing tool in order to produce the surface topography. For this purpose, either the pressing tool is partially covered with a mask and subjected to an etching operation or the determined grayscale bitmap data are used to control an abrasive machining head.
A PROCESS FOR SURFACE MODIFICATION OF MATERIALS
The present invention relates to surface modification of materials. In particular the invention relates to a process for surface modification of polymeric materials to make the surface non-stick in order to reduce the ability of materials to stick on it and thus provide an easy flow. The process comprises embossing the surface of an object with a pattern comprising micropillars having different shapes (circle, square, rectangular, polygonal prismatic) with an equivalent circular diameter, height and pitch in the range 10-200 microns; applying a layer of adhesive to get a coverage of 0.1 to 5 mg/cm on the embossed surface either by spray coating or dip coating; depositing 0.2 to 1.2 mg/cm of hydrophobic particles wherein the hydrophobic particles have a particle size in the range 0.1 to 10 microns.

Method for manufacturing a decorative element having a raised embossed visible surface, and decorative element manufactured by said method
A method for manufacturing a decorative component includes providing an embossing device which has female embossing mold and male embossing mold, and providing at least one decorative material layer. The method also includes disposing the decorative material layer between the female embossing mold and the male embossing mold in such a manner that a visible surface of the decorative material layer faces the female embossing mold, and a reverse face of the decorative material layer that is opposite the visible surface faces the male embossing mold. The method also includes carrying out an embossing procedure by means of the embossing device such that the decorative material layer after the embossing procedure has a raised region on the visible surface, and opposite thereto a depressed region on the reverse face. The method also includes disposing an insert element for stabilizing the raised region in the depressed region.

Embossing tool and methods of preparation
The present invention is directed to an embossing tool having a microstructure on its surface wherein the surface of the embossing tool has a thin layer of gold or an alloy thereof. Such an embossing tool not only can reduce adhesion between the surface of the embossing tool and a cured material, but also does not cause any significant change to the profile of the microstructure.
