Laser finishing system for apparel
Software and lasers are used in finishing apparel to produce a desired wear pattern or other design. A technique includes determining a fabric's response to a laser, capturing an initial image of a wear pattern on a garment, and processing the initial image to obtain a working image in grayscale. The working image is further processed to obtain a difference image by comparing each pixel relative to a dark reference. The difference image is converted to a laser values image by using the previously determined fabric response to the laser.
Systems, apparatuses and methods for substance delivery from dental appliance
A dental appliance having an integrally formed reservoir and/or an ornamental design integrated thereon. The ornamental design can be selected or customized by a patient. The design can be created by directing energy to the dental appliance to alter a material property of at least a portion of the appliance to create the design. Alternatively, a groove or recess can be formed on a surface of the appliance to either mechanically retain an ornamental design or the groove or recess can be filled with ink to form the design. The appliance, including the integrally formed reservoir, can be formed using direct fabrication techniques.
LASER-ABLATED TRANSLUCENT REGION OF A TOUCHSCREEN
Embodiments enhance graphic capabilities in projected-capacitive (PCAP) touch sensitive systems, and more specifically to a border component of a PCAP touchscreen. Embodiments include a method and an apparatus for a PCAP touchscreen layered structure. Some embodiments include screen printing a border component on a cover sheet, curing the border component, ablating a pattern on the border component, and screen printing one colored ink onto the pattern on the border component. In some embodiments the border layer is black, and the colored ink is coupled to a cover sheet. The pattern causes the colored ink to appear as a continuous gradient of the colored ink. In some embodiments the border component includes two or more border-layer components. At least one of the border-layer components may include an ablated pattern. Each ablated pattern may be coupled to a different colored ink.
Method for engraving, marking and/or inscribing a workpiece using a laser plotter, and laser plotter herefor
In some embodiments, a method includes engraving, marking and/or inscribing a workpiece using a laser plotter. In said method, in a housing of the laser plotter, one, preferably more, in particular two laser sources in the form of lasers have an effect preferably alternating on the workpiece to be processed. The workpiece is laid in a defined manner on a processing table and a laser beam emitted from the beam source (4) is transmitted to at least one focusing unit via deflection elements and the laser beam is diverted toward the workpiece and focused for processing. The workpiece, in particular the position of the work piece in relation to the laser beam, is controlled by means of software running in a control unit, such that the workpiece is processed line by line by the displacement of a carriage. A sequence control adapted to the quality of the engraving in which a defined ratio of a spot variable to the line distance and an engraving controller of the lines to be processed is determined and/or carried out by the control unit and the focusing unit on the carriage is controlled corresponding to the defined parameters of the sequence control.

DIAGENETIC CEMENTATION SOLUTION AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAND SCULPTURE WITH SAME
Provided in the present invention is a diagenetic cementation solution and a method for manufacturing a sand sculpture with the same. The diagenetic cementation solution includes a urease-containing plant powder, urea, calcium salt and a cementation solution, wherein the urease-containing plant powder is dissolved in the cementation solution in a mass ratio of 10:50 to 1:50, a resulting mixture is stirred and left to stand for a period of time, and a supernate is reserved; a mixture of the urea and the calcium salt is dissolved in the supernate in a mass ratio of 1:5 to 1:20. The method for manufacturing a sand sculpture includes: ramming a foundation by means of the diagenetic cementation solution, mounting a form and piling sand, pouring and ramming, and removing the form and carrying out sculpturing.
Electronic device marked using laser-formed pixels of metal oxides
A housing for an electronic device including a marking comprising multiple pixels is disclosed herein. The housing comprises one or more oxide layer, such as a metal oxide layer, and the marking comprises pixels formed into or within the oxide layer. In some instances, the pixels cooperate to form an image along an exterior surface of the electronic device.
Methods for decorating a translucent container
A method for decorating a translucent container including cleaning an exterior surface of the container and applying a silver layer to the exterior surface followed by a black layer applied over the silver layer. Portions of the silver and black layers are selectively removed to form one or more shapes using a laser. A translucent protective layer is applied over the entire exterior of the container.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A FLOOR BOARD
A method of manufacturing a floor board comprises the steps of supplying a panel, printing a curable substance or surface removing substance onto the panel in a predefined pattern for creating an elevation on the panel at the pattern or removing a portion of the surface of the panel at the pattern, respectively, and curing the curable substance or removing any reaction products of the surface removing substance and the panel.
COVERING ELEMENT, METHOD FOR DECORATING A COVERING ELEMENT, AND MACHINE FOR DECORATING A COVERING ELEMENT
A set comprising a plurality of covering elements for floors and/or walls, wherein each covering element comprises an upper surface having a pattern and at least one distressed upper edge, wherein at least two covering elements of the set comprises substantially the same pattern, and wherein the shape of the distressed upper edge differs in each covering element of the set.
