A method and a plant for the production of a rim for a wheel of a vehicle. At first and by means of an additive manufacturing process, a temporary rim is manufactured, which is provided with a central hub, with a raw ring arranged around the central hub and with a series of spokes, which are radially arranged and connect the raw ring to the central hub; subsequently, the temporary rim is subjected to a flow-forming process, which deforms the raw ring determining an axial lengthening thereof, which transforms the raw ring into a channel having the desired final shape.

A method for producing an automobile rim made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy for a wheel of an automobile, the automobile rim having a rim bed bounded on opposite sides by an outer flange and an inner flange, a hub with a center recess and a bolt circle, as well as a rim center connecting the rim bed and the hub to one another, the rim center being designed with a plurality of spokes spaced apart in the circumferential direction with respect to the longitudinal center axis of the automobile rim. The automobile rim is produced in one piece and continuously in a casting mold by die casting of a casting material, wherein the automobile rim has, at least in some areas, a low wall thickness not exceeding 15 mm.
METHOD, CASTING MOLD, AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING A VEHICLE WHEEL
A method for producing a vehicle wheel from a light metal material is disclosed herein. The light metal material is introduced in liquid form into a mold cavity of a casting mold and pressurized casting is then used to produce the vehicle wheel. The casting mold is temperature-controlled, where different regions of the casting mold are maintained at different temperatures. An apparatus that includes the disclosed casting mold is also described herein.

A method for producing a vehicle wheel from a light metal material is disclosed herein. The light metal material is introduced in liquid form into a mold cavity of a casting mold and pressurized casting is then used to produce the vehicle wheel. The casting mold is temperature-controlled, where different regions of the casting mold are maintained at different temperatures. An apparatus that includes the disclosed casting mold is also described herein.

The automobile rim is formed during the die casting with at least one air conveying element for conveying air in the axial direction with respect to a longitudinal center axis of the automobile rim relative to an imaginary plane perpendicular to the longitudinal center axis and/or at least one surface enlargement element extending in the circumferential direction along a circular line.

Multiple central portions are individually positioned in one of multiple areas of the interior section completely encapsulated by a metal of the casting. An insert member is positioned in individual ones of the multiple central portions, the insert member having a higher melting point than a melting point of a metal of the casting the insert member displaces.

The present invention relates to a hybrid wheel for vehicles that comprises a unitary lug structure, with a mount face and a dish section of the lug structure extending therefrom. The lug structure is usually a cast aluminum alloy. A wheel structure comprising a high strength polymer encapsulates a portion of the lug structure dish section. rim ring(s) are included in the wheel structure and are preferably made of a fiber reinforced high strength polymer.
