VEHICLE WHEEL RIM

A vehicle wheel rim is printed with a metal alloy by a three-dimensional printing method. The rim includes a substantially circular rolling strip defined by a front edge and a rear edge. The rolling strip includes a central rim base, a front part including fittings for a front tire support, located between the rim base and the front edge, and a rear part including fittings for a rear tire support, located between the rim base and the rear edge. The rim is designed to be mounted on a vehicle such that the front edge is located on an outer side of the vehicle and the rear edge is located on an inner side of the vehicle. The rolling strip includes a plurality of cavities in the thickness thereof and in a radial section.

A wheel assembly includes a rim having a primary tire bead retention ridge; a plurality of secondary bead retention members; and a plurality of sealing members. The plurality of secondary bead retention members are removably coupleable to receptacles of the rim such that a portion of each secondary bead retention member extends into a pressurized portion of the wheel, is positioned behind a tire bead seat, and extends radially beyond the primary tire bead retention ridge.

TIRE RETAINING FEATURE FOR A BICYCLE RIM

A rim assembly for a bicycle wheel includes a rim, a first protruding tire retaining feature attached to a first surface of the rim, and a second protruding tire retaining feature attached to a second surface of the rim. The first surface is a surface of a first tire retaining wall of a radially outer tire engaging portion of the rim, and the second surface is a surface of a second tire retaining wall of the radially outer tire engaging portion. The second surface faces the first surface. The first protruding tire retaining feature and the second protruding tire retaining feature are made of a first material, and the first tire retaining wall and the second tire retaining wall are made of a second material. The second material is different than the first material.

Each surface has a radial inner portion located on a radial inner side and a radial outer portion located on a radial outer side. The radial outer portion has an extension portion and a radial outer periphery at the outermost side. The extension portion is extended toward the radial outer side from a connecting portion between the radial outer portion and the intermediate portion. The spoiler portion has a plurality of spoiler profiles concavely formed on the radial outer portion of at least one of the two side surfaces. At least one of the spoiler profiles is partially disposed on the extension portion without forming any undulation on the radial outer periphery.

The wheel rim includes a plurality of spoke engaging seats being configured to receive and retain a respective spoke. Each spoke seat includes a through hole including a first hole portion, a second hole portion, and a hole retaining surface configured to abuttingly retain the enlarged spoke head when the respective spoke is tightened between the wheel rim and the wheel hub. The wheel structure also includes safety elements engageable in the spoke seats to press each enlarged spoke head against the respective hole retaining surface.
