WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY PROVIDED WITH PIEZOELECTRIC SPACERS
A wheel hub assembly for motor vehicles, having a rotatable hub, a bearing unit in turn comprising a radially outer ring, a radially inner ring and a plurality of rolling bodies. The axial interface between the wheel hub assembly and a knuckle of a motor vehicle suspension provides at least one piezoelectric spacer configured to detect first mechanical vibrations coming from the components of the wheel hub assembly and to implement corrective action consisting of second mechanical vibrations of almost equal amplitude but with opposite direction and phase, so that the resultant of the first and second mechanical vibrations is close to zero.
Systems and methods for preloading a bearing and aligning a lock nut
A system for use in providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes a preload apparatus having a first extension and a second extension engageable with an inner race of the bearing and configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. The first extension has a first projection and the second extension has a second projection. A stop ring is configured to limit a radially inward movement of the first extension and the second extension toward each other to position the first projection and the second projection relative to the bearing.
Encoder wheel for wheel-hub unit
A speed measuring device for a wheel-hub unit provided with a rolling bearing, the measuring device having an encoder wheel made of magnetized elastic material and assembled on a rotating ring of the bearing; mechanical supporting means that are directly placed between the encoder wheel and the ring so that the encoder wheel and the ring are angularly constrained to each other; and mechanical locking means for axially locking the encoder wheel inside a seat defined by the mechanical locking means together with the mechanical supporting means.
Hub unit bearing and method of assembling hub unit bearing
A hub unit bearing includes: a hub spindle; an inner ring; an outer ring member; a plurality of tapered rollers that are rollably provided between outer circumferential surfaces of the hub spindle and the inner ring and an inner circumferential surface of the outer ring member; a cage including a large-diameter-side annular part, a small-diameter-side annular part; and a sealing device including a metal insert, wherein: the metal insert includes a cylindrical part that is mounted on the inner circumferential surface of the outer ring member and a flange part that radially extends inward from one end of the cylindrical part; and an engaging projection is provided on an outboard side end face of the large-diameter-side annular part of the cage, and an engaging groove engaged with the engaging projection is provided on an inboard side end face of the flange part of the metal insert.
Assembling device of wheel hub unit
An assembling device including: a bearing setting unit configured to set a bearing unit such that the bearing unit is coaxial with respect to a hub cylindrical part and can be moved toward the hub cylindrical part, a rotational drive source configured to transmit rotational force around an axis to the bearing unit set in the bearing setting unit; and an inner-ring press-fitting unit configured to externally fit a inner rings of the bearing unit to which the rotational force around the axis has been transmitted, to the hub cylindrical part.
Hub, in particular for bicycles
A hub for bicycles includes a hub shell which is rotatably supported relative to a hub axle by two roller bearings disposed on opposite ends of the hub shell, a rotor rotatably supported relative to the hub axle by two rotor bearings, and a freewheel device having an interacting hub-side freewheel component and a rotor-side freewheel component. The two freewheel components each have axial engagement elements and are axially movable relative to one another between a freewheel position and an intermeshing engaging position. The rotor is disposed in the same axial position both in the freewheel position and in the engaging position. A driving torque is transmitted in the engaging position. The hub-side freewheel component has an inner central receiving space with a bearing seat and a roller bearing received to rotatably support the hub shell. The hub-side freewheel component includes an appendix protruding outwardly from the axial body section.
Rolling-element bearing unit for wheel bearing assembly
A rolling-element bearing unit for a wheel bearing assembly of a vehicle includes a rolling-element bearing with an outer ring, a an inner ring, a bearing interior between the outer ring and the inner ring and a plurality of rolling elements in the bearing interior. The inner ring has an inner ring surface facing the bearing interior and a first and a second axial end surface. A first seal assembly includes a retainer fixed on the bearing outer ring and a seal element configured to slidingly seal against the bearing inner ring surface or against a slip sleeve carried by the bearing inner ring. The retainer is an angle bracket having an axially extending annular leg and a radially inwardly extending annular flange, and radially inwardly extending flange projects radially inwardly beyond the bearing inner ring surface, for example, over a step in the first axial end surface.
Wheel hub bearing unit of a motor vehicle
A wheel hub bearing unit of a motor vehicle includes at least one roller bearing for mounting a wheel hub. The roller bearing contains an outer ring which, on an outer peripheral face, is at least partially equipped with a first threaded element and at least one inner ring, and a wheel carrier with a mounting hole. A wall of the mounting hole is at least partially equipped with a second threaded element that is provided for mechanical engagement with the first threaded element. The outer ring and the wheel carrier each have at least one contact face, which are provided to come into mutual mechanical contact when the roller bearing is mounted in the wheel carrier.
WHEEL END ASSEMBLY HAVING A COMPRESSION RING AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLY
A wheel end assembly having a steering knuckle, a hub, and a compression ring. The steering knuckle may have an opening that may extend around a spindle. The hub may be rotatably disposed on the spindle. The compression ring may be disposed on the hub and may be at least partially disposed in the opening.
