ENCODER WHEEL FOR WHEEL-HUB UNIT
A speed measuring device for a wheel-hub unit provided with a rolling bearing, the measuring device having an encoder wheel made of magnetized elastic material and assembled on a rotating ring of the bearing; mechanical supporting means that are directly placed between the encoder wheel and the ring so that the encoder wheel and the ring are angularly constrained to each other; and mechanical locking means for axially locking the encoder wheel inside a seat defined by the mechanical locking means together with the mechanical supporting means.
Wheel End Assembly Having a Deflector
A wheel end assembly having a steering knuckle, a hub, and a deflector. The steering knuckle may have an opening that may extend around a spindle. The hub may be rotatably disposed on the spindle. The deflector may be disposed on the hub and may be at least partially disposed in the opening.
Roller bearing module, a method for manufacturing a roller bearing module, and a method for forming a vehicle hub assembly
A roller bearing module for a vehicle hub module having an outboard roller bearing and an inboard roller bearing. The roller bearing module provides a spacer coupling the outboard roller bearing to the inboard roller bearing. The spacer is arranged in an axial direction between the outboard roller bearing and the inboard roller bearing. The roller bearing module includes a first sealing structure arranged at an outwards facing side of the outboard roller bearing. The roller bearing module further includes a second sealing structure arranged at an inwards facing side of the inboard roller bearing.
Pin indexable sleeve for select wheel alignment correction
A system for wheel alignment is provided including adjustments to camber, toe, and thrust. A sleeve is fitted over the spindle of an axle. Rotation of the sleeve relative to the spindle provides for adjustments to wheel alignment while a locking feature such as e.g., a pin, is used to maintain the selected position of the sleeve relative to the spindle. The available positions of the sleeve relative to the spindle are predetermined in order to provide for discrete, known adjustments to the alignment of the wheel.
WHEEL MOUNTING STRUCTURE
A spigot joint part of a wheel hub has a cylindrical outer peripheral surface. The wheel mounting structure includes a collared member having a collar part to be press-fitted into and fixed to the spigot joint part, which is formed at a position away from an end part of the spigot joint part by a predetermined distance to protrude outward in a radial direction of the collared member. An annular protruding part is formed on a part of an inner peripheral surface of a center hole of a wheel to protrude toward a center of the wheel. In a state where the wheel is fixed to the flange part by using hub bolts, a fitting part and the annular protruding part are spigot-fitted. In a state where the hub bolts are removed, the annular protruding part is locked by the collar part.
AUTOMATIC TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM WITH THRU-HUB AIR FEED
An Automatic Tire Inflation System (ATIS) for use with a vehicle includes a controller, valves controlled by the controller and, for at least one drive axle having inner bearings and outer bearings, a channel formed in a spindle, first hosing coupling controlled by the controller to the channel formed in the spindle, a channel formed in a hub, a rotary air seal coupling the channel formed in the spindle to the channel formed in the hub, and second hosing coupling the channel formed in the hub to at least one wheel. The the rotary air seal may transition from a sealed state that forms a seal between the spindle and the hub to support air flow between the channel formed in the spindle and the channel formed in hub and reside in an unsealed state to negate the seal between the spindle and the hub.
Systems and methods for preloading a bearing and aligning a lock nut
An apparatus for providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft which includes an attaching member releasably connectable to a shaft and a press mechanism coupled to the attaching member. The press mechanism is configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. The press mechanism includes a wrench engageable with the lock nut on the shaft and the wrench is configured to engage and rotate the nut when the attaching member connects to the shaft. The wrench is moveable axially relative to an axial dimension of the press mechanism between a proximal non-engaged position and a distal engaged position such that the wrench engages the nut in the distal engaged position and the wrench avoids engaging the nut in a proximal non-engaged position. An aligning ring may be located around the attaching member and may be configured to engage a shaft slot.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRELOADING A BEARING AND ALIGNING A LOCK NUT
A system for use in providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes a preload apparatus having a first extension and a second extension engageable with an inner race of the bearing and configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. The first extension has a first projection and the second extension has a second projection. A stop ring is configured to limit a radially inward movement of the first extension and the second extension toward each other to position the first projection and the second projection relative to the bearing.
