Wheel hub unit
A wheel hub unit comprises a wheel hub body (100, 200), a first tapered roller bearing (101, 201) and a second tapered roller bearing (102, 202). Two bearings are oppositely disposed in the wheel hub body (100, 200). A bearing bush (104) or a shaft sleeve (204) is sleeved in the inner rings of the first tapered roller bearing (101, 201) and that of the second tapered roller bearing (102, 202), so as to form a rolling and sliding bearing, and the high strength load is effectively absorbed. A seal element is disposed between the outside end of the bearing and the wheel hub body (100, 200) to form the integral type independent seal. The problem that the inner rings of the bearings are exchanged and assembled in a mixed way during the assembly process is avoided, and the efficiency and accuracy of assembly are improved.
Wheel end assembly for a vehicle
The invention relates to a wheel end assembly for a vehicle, comprising a wheel end bearing, a hub casing including a first material and a different second material joined together as a single piece, the hub casing comprising a radially external body of said first material and a radially internal tubular core of said second material, the tubular core being provided concentrically around the wheel end bearing, and an annular seal which is concentric with the wheel end bearing and the hub casing, wherein the annular seal has a radial extension from the wheel end bearing towards and into contact with one of the external body and the tubular core, and wherein the annular seal is spaced apart from the other one of the external body and the tubular core. The invention also relates to a wheel end arrangement and to a vehicle.
WHEEL BEARING ARRANGEMENT FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A wheel bearing arrangement for a motor vehicle with a wheel hub and a wheel bearing for the rotatable bearing of the wheel hub at a wheel mount. The wheel bearing has an outer ring and an inner ring, which is rotatable with respect to the outer ring around an axis of rotation and is connected to the wheel hub. A wheel flange extends from the wheel hub and, as viewed in the axial direction, has a brake disk mount, which is open in the direction facing away from the outer ring and which, as viewed in longitudinal section with respect to the axis of rotation, is formed by a recess of the wheel flange, and has a support surface for a brake disk.
KNUCKLE APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM
A knuckle apparatus for a vehicle suspension system, may include a bearing device having an assembly end portion protruding and extending from a center thereof; and a knuckle device having a plurality of brackets connected to a suspension system component, the brackets being coupled through the assembly end portion.
Driven wheel assembly and automotive vehicle equipped with such an assembly
A driven wheel assembly includes a fixed axle spindle, a rotating drive shaft extending inside the axle spindle, a bearing, a hub, a brake disc, and a wheel rim. An inner ring of the bearing is mounted on the spindle. The hub is mounted on an outer ring of the bearing. The drive shaft, the brake disc and the wheel rim are coupled in rotation with the hub. The brake disc includes a radial friction part and a tubular portion which is fastened to the hub. The brake disc is fastened to the hub by a radial fastener extending along radial directions with respect to a rotation axis of the assembly and mounted through the tubular portion of the brake disc.
Wheel bearing unit and method of securing the wheel bearing unit for transport
A wheel bearing unit includes a wheel hub, a first rolling-element bearing, and a fastener assembly, and the fastener assembly is formed separately from the wheel hub and is spaced from an axial end of the wheel hub. The fastener assembly secures at least one component of the rolling-element bearing against falling out of the wheel hub away from a center of mass of the wheel bearing unit, and the fastener assembly contacts the wheel hub.
Wheel end assembly having a seal interface with a tone ring
A wheel end assembly that has a spindle, a hub, a tone ring, and a seal assembly. The tone ring may be mounted to the hub and may have a tone ring opening that may extend around the spindle. The seal assembly may be disposed in the tone ring opening and may extend from the spindle to the tone ring.
Durable quiet hubless caster technology
Embodiments of the present invention provide a hubless caster that is at least as aesthetically pleasing as prior art hubless casters but that is significantly more durable. In one aspect, a hubless caster is provided that includes a frame member having two opposed sides. A generally ring-shaped mount portion projects from at least one of the two opposed sides of the frame member. In some embodiments, the hubless caster has the following three components mounted on the mount portion, in sequence moving radially outwardly from the mount portion: a) an annular backbone member defining an inner bearing race, b) a rolling element, and c) a wheel defining an outer bearing race.
WHEEL HUB SYSTEM INCLUDING A RETAINER FOR POSITIONING COMPONENTS DURING ASSEMBLY
A wheel hub system is disclosed. The wheel hub system has a hub assembly, a joint component, and a threaded bolt. The hub assembly has a hub having a though-hole, a circumferential groove formed in the through-hole, and a first support surface having a first plurality of teeth. The hub assembly also has a bearing unit positioned on the hub. The joint component is secured to the hub assembly and has a projection positioned in the through-hole and having a threaded bore and a retainer positioned in the circumferential groove. The joint component also has a second support surface having a second plurality of teeth operatively engaging the first plurality of teeth. The retainer positions the hub assembly and the joint component relative to each other during assembly. The threaded bolt is positioned in the threaded bore and secures the hub assembly in the position.
INSTALLATION UNIT AND METHOD FOR INSTALLING A BEARING UNIT
An installation unit for installing a bearing unit includes a carrier having an interior and the bearing unit mounted in the interior. The bearing unit includes a first rolling-element row and a second rolling-element row, and both the first rolling-element row and the second rolling-element row are at least partially disposed inside the carrier. The bearing unit is slidingly mounted in the carrier such that, when an end opening of the carrier is aligned with an opening in a bearing housing, applying a force against the bearing unit will slide the bearing unit out of the carrier and into the opening in the bearing housing. Also, a method of installing the bearing unit in the opening in the housing using the installation unit.
