Bicycle wheel hub with molded spoke holes

A hub for a bicycle wheel includes a hub shell that defines one or more spoke holes. The hub shell includes a fiber reinforced material. The fiber reinforced material has one or more reinforcement fibers bending around the spoke holes to remain continuous around the spoke holes. One or more flanges with the spoke holes extend from the hub shell at an outer radial direction. A clutch or freehub adapter is coupled to the hub shell. Depending on the type of clutch mechanism used in the freehub, different clutch adapters can be incorporated into the hub.

Electromagnetic Wheel Assembly
20190176517 · 2019-06-13 ·

An electromagnetic wheel assembly includes a spindle that may be rotatably coupled to an axle of a vehicle. A wheel is removably positioned on the spindle. A hub is provided and the spindle is rotatably positioned in the hub. An electromagnet is coupled to the hub. The electromagnet is selectively turned on to magnetically engage the wheel thereby retaining the wheel on the disk. The electromagnet is embedded within the disk. A lock is movably coupled to the spindle. The lock is selectively urged into a locking position to inhibit the wheel from coming off of the spindle when the electromagnet fails. Additionally, the lock is selectively urged into an unlocked position to facilitate the wheel to be removed from the spindle.

Indexable system for select wheel alignment correction

A system for wheel alignment is provided including adjustments to camber, toe, and thrust. A sleeve is fitted over the spindle of an axle. Rotation of the sleeve relative to the spindle provides for adjustments to wheel alignment while a locking feature such as e.g., a pin, is used to maintain the selected position of the sleeve relative to the spindle. The available positions of the sleeve Crelative to the spindle are predetermined in order to provide for discrete, known adjustments to the alignment of the wheel. Numerous positions can be provided based on the range and magnitude of adjustability selected.
