An omni-wheel may include a shaft, a plurality of rollers, and a braking device. The plurality of rollers may be circumferentially arranged about the shaft and arranged radially outward from the shaft. The braking device may include an at least one flexible clutch member, an at least one brake pad, and an actuator. The at least one flexible clutch member may have an outer diameter arranged about the shaft. The at least one brake pad may be arranged on the outer diameter of the at least one flexible clutch member. The actuator may be arranged to axially displace the at least one flexible clutch member. The at least one flexible clutch member may expand radially outward when axially displaced by the actuator, which may displace the at least one brake pad arranged on the outer diameter of the at least one flexible clutch member radially outward to contact at least one of the plurality of rollers, preventing rotation of the roller.

BEARINGLESS HUB ASSEMBLY WITH ELECTROMAGNETIC DRIVE SYSTEM AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
20220282757 · 2022-09-08 ·

A bearingless hub assembly comprising a rim hollowed to receive a tube magnet, and magnets embedded around the circumference of the rim on both ends. The rim is capped by front and rear rim plates configured to hold the embedded magnets in place and fitted to receive respective circular magnets. Similar magnets in corresponding front or rear drive plate maintain space (i.e., levitation) vis-à-vis the front and rear rim caps by repelling each other, thus allowing the rim (and, as applied, a mechanically-attached tire assembly) to move freely with no friction. The front and rear drive plate carry forward and reverse electromagnetic actuators as well as forward and reverse levitation control units, power generators and speed sensors. These components mount 360 degrees around the circumference of the drive plates while the embedded magnets of the rim spin through when in motion.

Rolling bearing unit

A rolling bearing unit includes: an inner ring member having a recess on a first side in an axial direction, the recess being recessed toward a second side in the axial direction; an outer ring member disposed on the outer periphery side of the inner ring member; a rolling body disposed between the inner ring member and the outer ring member and rotatably supporting the inner ring member with respect to the outer ring member; a transmitter capable of transmitting at least one of electric power or a signal, at least a part of the transmitter being accommodated inside the recess of the inner ring member; and a covering member that is supported by the first side of the outer ring member in the axial direction, covers the first side of the inner ring member in the axial direction, and fixes the transmitter.

Axle assembly and the tire inflation system made therewith

An axle assembly includes a first axle shaft. The first axle shaft includes a first conduit. A second axle shaft includes a second conduit. The first conduit and the second conduit are in fluid communication through a chamber. A differential is operatively connected to the first axle shaft and the second axle shaft. The chamber is at least partially disposed within the differential.

HUB- INTEGRATED-TYPE CONSTANT-VELOCITY JOINT DEVICE
20220258530 · 2022-08-18 · ·

A hub-integrated-type constant-velocity joint device in which one hub housing (40) functions as both an outer race of a constant velocity joint and a wheel hub combining a disc (2) of a wheel and a knuckle (3). In this configuration, a boot sealing portion (110) integrally formed at a boot (50) is inserted in a gap (35) between an inner race (32) and an outer race (33) of a bearing (30), thereby functioning as an inner seal closing up the gap between the inner race (32) and the outer race (33).
