A unitized wheelend is provided. The unitized wheelend includes a hub having an inboard side bounded by an oil seal and an outboard side bounded by a retainer releasably coupled to the hub. The unitized wheelend assembly includes an inboard bearing assembly, a spacer, an outboard bearing assembly, and a spindle nut assembly.
SEALING ARRANGMENT FOR A WHEEL BEARING
A seal arrangement for a wheel bearing having first bearing part and a second bearing part integrally connected to a wheel bearing flange, between which bearing parts rolling elements are guided. The sealing arrangement includes: a carrier element, which is connected to the first bearing part and an elastic element is provided on the carrier element. The elastic element has at least one sealing lip, and the carrier element has a fastening section, which is connected to the first bearing part. A stop part is fastened to the second bearing part with which the at least one sealing lip is in rubbing contact. The wheel bearing flange has an axial projection at least partially surrounds an axial projection of the first bearing part, and an inner surface of the axial projection of the wheel bearing flange forms a seat for the stop part.

A wheel bearing arrangement for a motor vehicle, including a wheel support and a wheel hub which is rotatably mounted on the wheel support by a wheel bearing in order to secure a wheel and to which a shaft is rotationally fixed, wherein a wheel bearing seal sealingly lies, on the one hand, against an inner ring of the wheel bearing, said inner ring sitting on the wheel hub, and, on the other hand, against an outer ring of the wheel bearing, said outer ring being secured to the wheel support. It is provided here that a wheel bearing pre-seal is rotationally fixed to the shaft adjacently to the wheel bearing and engages by a seal protrusion in a pre-seal receiving area formed in at least some sections between the outer ring and the wheel support.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A WHEEL HUB BEARING UNIT FOR VEHICLES AND ASSOCIATED WHEEL HUB BEARING UNIT
A wheel hub bearing unit including an outer ring, rolling bodies and an inner ring provided with a flange at a first end thereof, the inner ring being made with a sliding surface for sealing lips of a sealing device arranged so as to protect the rolling bodies, defined by a metal insert formed integrally with the first end and arranged astride a base portion of the flange and a portion of the first end immediately adjacent to the base portion of the flange. The metal insert has a thickness of between 0.2 and 2 mm and being made, using a material different from the material with which the inner ring is manufactured and consisting of an austenitic stainless steel, by means of additive manufacturing.
Bearing device for vehicle wheel
A bearing device for a wheel is disclosed. The bearing device includes: an outer ring; a hub ring having at least one inner ring, and double rows of inner rolling surfaces on an outer periphery of the hub ring; double rows of balls in between respective rolling surfaces of the outer ring and the hub ring; and an outer seal member. The bearing device further includes: core metal having a circular cylinder section and a circular plate section at an opening of the outer ring; and a lip having an elastic body and being positioned on the circular plate section. An annular dam section having an elastic body and protruding further radially outward than an outer peripheral surface of the outer ring extends from the circular plate section, and an outer member-side eaves section has a circular cylindrical shape and protrudes axially so as to surround the outer ring.
BEARING DEVICE HAVING IMPROVED SEALING MOUNTING STRUCTURE
There is provided a bearing device in which an inner member and an outer member are connected to each other in a relative rotation relationship through rolling elements. A sealing member may be provided in an end portion of the bearing device so as to prevent an external foreign substance from flowing into the bearing device or prevent lubricant filled in the bearing device from leaking out of the bearing device. The sealing member may comprise a frame constituting a basic body and an elastic sealing portion attached to the frame, and the elastic sealing portion may comprise one or more sealing lips. The one or more sealing lips may comprise a main sealing lip configured to perform a main sealing function and an auxiliary sealing lip located inward of the main sealing lip.
Wheel Hub Assembly
In one aspect of the present disclosure, a wheel hub assembly is provided that includes a hub body having an outboard end portion and an inboard end portion, a bearing assembly, and a seal. The seal includes a seal case and a sleeve. The hub body and seal case are rotatable relative to the sleeve. The wheel hub assembly further includes a stop of the bearing assembly configured to resist movement of the sleeve toward the outboard end portion of the hub body as the hub body, bearing assembly, and sleeve are advanced together in an inboard direction along a vehicle spindle. The stop permits the bearing assembly to transfer a force applied in an inboard axial direction against the bearing assembly, such as by tightening of a spindle nut, to the sleeve and urge the sleeve along a vehicle spindle.
SEALING ARRANGEMENT FOR A WHEEL BEARING ARRANGEMENT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A seal arrangement for a wheel bearing arrangement of a motor vehicle, including a seal body having a sealing lip, wherein the seal body is arranged on a fixed component of the wheel bearing arrangement and the sealing lip abuts a sealing surface of a rotating component of the wheel bearing arrangement. The disclosure is distinguished in that a film is applied to the sealing surface.
Method for manufacturing hub unit
A method for manufacturing a hub unit includes: preparing a hub unit intermediate including an inner shaft, an inner ring fixed to an axial end of the inner shaft, and an outer ring rotatably arranged with respect to the inner shaft and the inner ring; preparing a magnetic seal member including a seal member and an annular magnetic member having no magnetic pole; and arranging the magnetic seal member between the inner ring and the outer ring of the hub unit intermediate. The method further includes: forming splines extending along the axial direction by cutting the inner circumferential surface of the inner shaft of the hub unit intermediate in which the magnetic seal member has been arranged; and forming magnetic poles in a circumferential direction of the magnetic member of the hub unit intermediate in which the plurality of splines have been formed.
