Collapsible wheels and methods of making collapsible wheels
Embodiments of collapsible wheels and methods of making collapsible wheels are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Bicycle wheel hub, a bicycle wheel, a bicycle, a method of making a bicycle wheel and a method of making a bicycle
A bicycle wheel hub that includes a hub shell having a first end and a second end. The bicycle wheel hub also includes a first flange adjacent the first end and configured for the attachment of a first plurality of spokes, and a second flange adjacent the second end configured for the attachment of a second plurality of spokes.
Wheel apparatus for use with vehicles
Wheel apparatus for use with vehicles are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a wheel for a vehicle. The wheel has a groove disposed on an annular wall adjacent a drop well and extending away from the drop well. The example apparatus also includes a ring positioned in the groove.
Wheel
A wheel includes a main hub portion having outer and inner portions, the inner portion being spaced from the outer portion by a main hub sidewall; a ring portion configured to engage the main hub portion so as to enclose the outer portion and the inner portion and create an enclosed void; and an exterior covering surrounding at least part of the main hub portion and the ring portion at the enclosed void. A method of forming a wheel includes forming a main hub portion having an outer portion and an inner portion; forming a ring portion configured to engage the main hub portion so as to enclose the outer portion and the inner portion and create an enclosed void; assembling the main hub portion and the ring portion into an assembled hub; and overmolding an exterior covering surrounding at least part of the main hub and ring portions.
Non-rotating wheel cap
Apparatus and method for assembling a non-rotating wheel cap. A bearing is seated in either an outer disk of an inner disk as a first assembly step. A weight is in the form of an arc between 90 and 110 degrees and resides in a pocket formed in the outer disk. An adapter disk is attachable to the inner disk to allow customizing for various wheel fitment. A center ornamental portion may be a custom part or may be cut from an original fixed wheel center cap is cut from the fixed center cap, and attached to the outer disk converting the fixed center cap to a non-rotating center cap.
Sealed removable spindle for a spring axle
A removable spindle assembly improvement comprised of a spindle housing end unit having a threaded cavity. A corresponding threaded removable spindle is torqued into the threaded cavity. The spindle has a tapered section that includes O-rings for creating a seal along the corresponding section of the cavity to prevent corrosion which assists in the elimination of spindle seizure within the spindle housing end unit's cavity. The spindle assembly has an interlocking key assembly that assists in securing the spindle. The spindle housing end unit's housing includes a threaded aperture that cooperates with a sealed set screw for securing the spindle in place during operation. This assembly facilitates easy removal and replacement of a spindle on a spring axle.
BEAD LOCK SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Embodiments disclosed herein describe systems and methods for a bead lock wheel line in scaled vehicles. The bead lock wheel line may include a wheel center section and a bead lock ring. The bead lock ring may be configured to be overlaid on the wheel center section, wherein screws may be inserted through orifices positioned within the bead lock ring and into orifices positioned on the wheel center section.
Automated removal and replacement of vehicle wheels and tires
Systems, methods and apparatus for automated vehicle wheel removal and replacement are provided. One system includes a computer system with applications for scheduling the replacement of tires for the vehicle. An electronically controlled lift device and robotic apparatus is configured for interaction with the computer system. The lift device mechanically adjusts arms for placement on lift points of vehicles. The robotic apparatus detects positioning of lug nut configuration for a wheel, removes lug nuts, and then removes the wheel from the wheel hub with gripping arms. The wheel and tire are then handed off to a separate tire changing machine. When a new tire is replaced the robotic apparatus then mounts the wheel to the original wheel hub, and then secures the lug nuts to the lug nut bolts.
Hub, in particular for bicycles
A hub for bicycles including a hub shell which is rotatably supported relative to a hub axle, a rotor rotatably supported relative to the hub axle by means of two rotor bearings, and a freewheel device having two interacting freewheel components namely, a hub-side freewheel component and a rotor-side freewheel component. The two freewheel components each include axial engagement elements and they are movable relative to one another in the axial direction between a freewheel position and an intermeshing engaging position. Rolling members are provided for defined accommodation in the hub-side freewheel component to support the hub shell relative to the hub axle. An attachment portion and a centering portion are configured in the hub shell and an attachment area and a centering area are configured on the hub-side freewheel component. The attachment area is connected with the attachment portion and the centering area is centered on the centering portion.
Multidirectional wheel and method for manufacture of same
A multidirectional wheel in which the wheel has a wheel body rotatable about a wheel axle and having two half-shells and has a plurality of rotating bodies which are located at the outer periphery of the wheel body and via which the wheel can roll off. At least one half-shell, and preferably both half-shells, has/have mounts in which end regions of the axles of the rotating bodies are received or which project into end regions of the axles of the rotating bodies, with the mounts of the half-shells being configured as continuously converging.
