A non-pneumatic tire 1 comprises: a radially inner ring 3 coupled with an tire wheel H; a radially outer ring 2 comprising a radially outermost annular tread portion 5 having electrical conductivity, and a radially innermost second portion 6; and radial link portions 4 connecting between the radially outer and inner rings 2 and 3. The second portion 6, radial link portions 4 and radially inner ring 3 are each formed of a resin material containing carbon black to have electrical conductivity. The resin material comprises 0.5 to 20 parts by mass of carbon black having a BET specific surface area of from 300 to 1500 sq.Math.m/g with respect to 100 parts by mass of its resin component. The tread portion 5 is electrically connected with the second portion 6.

A high performance tire includes a tread produced by a process including vulcanizing a rubber composition including a rubber component, a carbon black component, and a plasticizer component. The rubber component includes styrene butadiene rubber in content in the range of 60 to 100 mass % with respect to 100 mass % of the rubber component, the carbon black component includes carbon black having DBP oil absorption of 130 cm.sup.3/100 g or more and nitrogen adsorption specific surface area in the range of 100 to 125 m.sup.2/g, and the carbon black has content in the range of 100 to 180 parts by mass and the plasticizer component has content in the range of 120 to 250 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component such that the contents of the carbon black and plasticizer components satisfy (the carbon black component content)/(the plasticizer component content)≦0.9.

The present invention is a strip of a thermoplastic elastomer composition to be wound spirally on a cylindrical drum to form an inner liner for a tire. The strip is composed of a layer stack of a first layer made of a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing 0.1 part by mass to 50 parts by mass of an organic derivative of clay mineral relative to 100 parts by mass of a styrene-isobutylene-styrene triblock copolymer, and a second layer made of a thermoplastic elastomer composition containing at least one of a styrene-isoprene-styrene triblock copolymer and a styrene-isobutylene diblock copolymer. The strip has a strip main body with a thickness of 0.05 mm to 1.0 mm and ear portions with a thickness thinner than the thickness of the strip main body and a width of 0.5 mm to 5.0 mm disposed on opposite sides thereof.

The present disclosure is directed to rubber compositions comprising a butyl rubber or a halogenated butyl rubber, at least one filler, and a whey protein component. The whey protein component is present in an amount sufficient to provide about 0.1 to about 10 phr whey protein in the rubber composition. The present disclosure is also directed to methods of preparing such rubber compositions and to a tire innerliner or innertube containing the rubber compositions disclosed herein.

A pneumatic tire includes an inner liner including a vulcanized rubber composition such that a number of voids each having a volume of 4.19 μm.sup.3 or more per 8,000,000 μm.sup.3 in the vulcanized rubber composition is 2 or less in an environment of 60° C. under an atmospheric pressure, and that the vulcanized rubber composition has an air permeation coefficient of 0.95×10.sup.−10 cm.sup.3.Math.cm/(cm.sup.2.Math.s.Math.cmHg) or less when measured using a differential pressure method in the environment of 60° C.

A method of preparing a tire with self-sealing properties, the method including the steps of providing a cured tire, the tire including a first bead, a second bead, a carcass layer extending from the first bead to the second bead, and an optional innerliner layer disposed interior to the carcass layer; directly or indirectly applying a sealant composition to at least a portion of the carcass layer or to at least a portion of the optional innerliner; and directly applying an air barrier composition to at least a portion of the carcass layer or to at least a portion of the optional innerliner.

Method for the manufacture of the innerliner compound comprising: —a first mixing step wherein at least one cross-linkable unsaturated chain polymeric base and one filler system are mixed together; —a final mixing step wherein a vulcanization system is added and mixed with the mixture deriving from an earlier mixing step; and —an intermediate mixing step, interposed between said first mixing step and the final mixing step, and wherein lignin is added and mixed into the mixture deriving from a previous mixing step.
