PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire includes a tread portion that is provided with two block rows formed of three circumferential grooves and a plurality of first transverse grooves. A block that configures the block rows has a hexagonal shape, and has a diagonal extension line passing through a pair of vertices positioned in the central portion in the tire-circumferential direction, the diagonal extension line overlapping, in the tire-circumferential direction, the first transverse groove of the adjacent block rows. The block has a first sipe that is terminated within a block extending in the tire-width direction. The first sipe is provided at a position shifted from the diagonal extension line in the tire-circumferential direction and in a region interposed between planes that are formed by extending, in a direction in which the first transverse groove extends, from a pair of groove wall surfaces of the first transverse groove of the adjacent block rows.
Radial tire
This invention relates to pneumatic radial tires which exhibit improved rolling resistance (provide better fuel economy) and improved performance characteristics. More particularly, this invention relates to the structure of radial ply tires for heavy load vehicles such as trucks, buses, and the like. It is based upon that finding that a defined profile of the outer surface of the sidewall portion can lead to a tire with reduced rolling resistance and a reduced generation of heat. The reduction in rolling resistance is obtained by a specific shaping of the bead portion of the tire which allows a bead mass reduction with an acceptable trade-off with regard to bead durability.
NON-PNEUMATIC TIRE
The invention is directed to a non-pneumatic tire comprising a tread band, sidewalls having each a carcass ply, wherein each of the carcass plies extends only on one lateral side of the tire. Radially outer end portions of the carcass plies are attached to the tread band in parallel to the tread band and point essentially in opposite axially outer directions. The invention is also directed to a non-pneumatic tire comprising a tread band and first and second carcass plies, wherein each of these carcass plies is provided on only one lateral side of the tire and has two radially inner bead portions, a radially outer top portion attached to the tread band and two intermediate portions extending transversely to the tread band from the top portion to the respective bead portion. Furthermore, the present invention is directed to tire rim assemblies comprising such tires.
TIRE FOR TWO-WHEELED AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLE
[Object] A tire, for a two-wheeled automotive vehicle, which is excellent in ride comfort and steering stability, is provided.
[Solution] A tire 12 for a two-wheeled automotive vehicle includes a carcass 20 that is extended on and between one of beads 18 and the other of the beads 18 along inner sides of a tread 14 and sidewalls 16. The carcass 20 includes a first ply 34 and a second ply 36 that is layered outward of the first ply 34. The first ply 34 is turned up around the beads 18 from an inner side toward an outer side in an axial direction. By the turning-up, the first ply 34 includes a main portion 34a and turned-up portions 34b. The second ply 36 is turned back around the beads 18 from the outer side toward the inner side in the axial direction. By the turning-back, the second ply 36 includes a main portion 36a and turned-back portions 36b.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
In a side reinforcing type tire 2, when a cross-sectional height of the tire 2 is denoted by L, a height in a radial direction from a bead base line to an outer edge of a core 34 is denoted by HC, a point on a turned-up portion 42 of a carcass ply 38 at which point a height in the radial direction from the bead base line is 0.35 times of the height L is denoted by P1, and a point on the turned-up portion 42 at which point the height in the radial direction from the bead base line is equal to the height HC is denoted by P2, the turned-up portion 42 has, between the point P1 and the point P2, a shape that is a curved line projecting inward in an axial direction, a straight line, or a combination thereof.
Pneumatic tire
A pneumatic tire according to the invention includes: a pair of left and right beads 3 each including a bead cores 3a and bead fillers 3b; a carcass ply 5 extended around the bead cores 3a; and an inner liner 4 arranged on an inner peripheral side of the carcass ply 5, and is characterized in that the carcass ply 5 is wound up around the bead cores 3a from the outside in the direction of width of tire to the inside in the direction of width of tire, and a distortion restraining layer 7 configured to restrain distortion of the winding ends 5a of the carcass ply 5 is provided between the bead fillers 3b and the carcass ply 5 so as to overlap with a wind-up ends 5a of the carcass ply 5.
Pneumatic tire
A pneumatic tire has carcass layers mounted between a pair of bead parts, the carcass layers being wound from the inner side of the tire to the outer side thereof about a bead core of each bead part. Protective layers including organic fiber cords are positioned in sidewall parts on the outer side of the carcass layers. The upper end parts of the protective layers are positioned along the carcass layers from outer end locations of the belt layers, between a location 20 mm toward the inner side in the tire width direction and a location 15 mm toward the outer side in the tire width direction. The lower end parts of the protective layers are positioned between main body portions of the carcass layers and the bead filler.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire can include a carcass, a belt layer, and reinforcing rubber layers. Turned-up portions of a carcass ply each include a first portion located between a body portion and the belt layer, a second portion adjacent to each reinforcing rubber layer in a tire axial direction, on an outer side in a tire radial direction with respect to a rim flange of a standardized rim, and a third portion located between the first portion and the second portion. A length of the third portion is 0.8 to 1.4 times a sum (La+Lb) of a length La of the first portion and a length Lb of the second portion.
Tire having a crown reinforcement made up of two working crown layers and optimized sidewalls
A tire having a radial carcass reinforcement, made up of a single layer of reinforcing elements anchored in each of the beads by being turned up around a bead wire, reinforced by a stiffener. The two working crown layers are the only ones present to form the crown reinforcement over at least 75% of the width of the tread, the absolute value of the difference between the absolute values of the angles 2 and 1 being greater than 8, 2 being greater than 1 in terms of absolute value, the mean angle satisfying the relationship 13+131*exp(L/100)<<20+164*exp(L/100), the reinforcing elements of the carcass reinforcement being cords which, in the test referred to as the permeability test, yield a flow rate of less than 20 cm.sup.3/min, a rubber compound being present within the cords, and, in the sidewall of the tire, the profile of the outer surface of the tire is at a constant distance from the carcass reinforcement layer between the points F and A, and meets the outer surface of the bead at the point C, forming two successive circular arcs.
