A water-conducting domestic appliance includes a detection unit configured to detect a type of item to be washed as the item is loaded into the water-conducting domestic appliance, and an output unit configured to output a signal carrying information for a user as a function of the detected type of item.

A detergent dispenser may be positioned to dispense detergent into a wash tub of a household appliance. The detergent dispenser may include a detergent cartridge. The detergent cartridge may include a detergent strip having a plurality of detergents. One or more ejection mechanisms may be used to expel the detergent from the detergent strip through an outlet of the detergent cartridge.

The controller may provide a notification if fluid is not flowing through the pump.

A flight-type dishwasher or rack conveyor dishwasher has a conveyor apparatus (20) for conveying washware through individual treatment zones (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) of the conveyor dishwasher (1). The conveyor dishwasher (1) has a detection system (30) designed to detect the presence of washware or a washware carrier (7) in a predefined region (A) at an inlet (10) or at a feed (16) of the conveyor dishwasher (1). The present disclosure concerns a method performed by at least one device, including: acquiring location data indicative of a location of a device which may be placed in a liquid- and/or gas-carrying household appliance; determining treatment chamber data indicative of a conclusion as to whether or not the at least one device is placed in a treatment chamber of the household appliance, the treatment chamber data being determined at least partially based on the acquired location data; and outputting or causing the output of the determined treatment chamber data. A vessel contains a quantity of liquid and has a duct connected to an outlet of the vessel. A dispensing device can be actuated in order to cause the quantity of liquid to flow out of the vessel through the duct. A color sensor is also included, which faces towards a monitoring region situated in one of the vessel, the duct and the dispensing device. The color sensor is configured for providing a color signal indicative of the color of the quantity of liquid arriving at the monitoring region. A control device is configured for receiving the color signal from the color sensor and for actuating the dispensing device as a function of the color signal. A method is for dispensing the quantity of liquid from the vessel.

An appliance with automatic sensing of printed circuit board (PCB) trace integrity and associated methods of sensing are provided. The appliance may include a controller operative to control operation of the appliance, a load in operative communication with the controller, and a PCB. The PCB may include a first trace supplying AC power to the load, a second trace supplying a return path for the AC power, a third trace supplying an alternate return path for the AC power, and current sensing circuitry. The current sensing circuitry may be configured to sense leakage current between the first trace and the third trace, with the leakage current being indicative of declining trace integrity of the PCB.

An automatic door opening system suitable for use in an electrical device having a body with an inner chamber, a door hinged to the body from one side, and a processing unit, the automatic door opening system having a rod that allows the door to open by applying a pushing force to the door while moving in a forward direction, and allows the door to be released when the rod brings into the backward position by moving in the backward direction.

A dishwashing appliance includes a cabinet and a tub in the cabinet. The tub defines a wash chamber for receipt of articles for washing. A door is rotatably mounted to the cabinet for movement between a closed position wherein the wash chamber is sealingly enclosed and an open position permitting access to the wash chamber for loading and unloading of articles from the dishwashing appliance. The dishwashing appliance also includes a control console positioned on the door. The control console includes a console cover on an exterior surface of the door, a console bracket mounted within an interior of the door and proximate the console cover, and a circuit board attached to an interior surface of the console cover with a double-sided adhesive film. The double-sided adhesive film sealingly engages the console cover and the console bracket.
