Isothermal-turbo-compressor-expander-condenser-evaporator device
This invention provides an isothermal turbo-compressor-expander-condenser-evaporator in a single integral arrangement that is suitable for a variety of compact arrangements, such as a window air-conditioner and/or automotive-based unit. This arrangement avoids the use of rotary fluid joints and maintains the entire fluid cycle, including compression, condensation, expansion and evaporation within a single rotating shaft-based structure, with the compressor/condenser section and the expansion/evaporator section separated from each other in separate spaces and/or plena by a rotating, insulated barrier disc and associated seal.
THERMAL MANAGEMENT CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE
A thermal management control circuit for an electric vehicle having a power electronics component to supply the drive motor and a battery includes a heat pump loop comprising a condenser and an evaporator a cooling-heating circuit configured to carry a fluid and comprising a first circuit portion comprising the condenser and the power electronics component, and configured to maintain the power electronics component within a power electronics component target temperature range, a second circuit portion comprising the evaporator, a first auxiliary communication circuit portion configured to carry some fluid heated by the condenser from the first circuit portion to the second circuit portion, and cooperating with the second circuit portion to maintain the battery within a battery target temperature range which is different from the power electronics component target temperature range.
Method of manufacturing an enclosure for a transport refrigeration unit, transport refrigeration unit and transport unit
A method of manufacturing a transport refrigeration unit is provided. The method includes providing an enclosure including an outer layer and a supporter. Providing the enclosure includes supplying one of a first material and a second material to a mold. This also includes supplying the other of the first material and the second material on the one of the first material and the second material that is supplied to the mold. Also, this includes curing the first material and the second material integrally that are supplied to the mold. The first material forms into the outer layer and the second material forms into the supporter. The second material includes a plurality of reinforcing fibers.
Battery powered transportation refrigeration unit with variable inverter
A transport refrigeration system including: a transportation refrigeration unit configured to provide conditioned air to a refrigerated cargo space; an energy storage device configured to store DC electrical energy to power the transportation refrigeration unit; and a DC-to-AC variable invertor electrically connecting the energy storage device to the transportation refrigeration unit, the DC-to-AC variable invertor being configured to convert the DC electrical energy from the energy storage device to AC electrical energy in a variable continuous energy output to power the transportation refrigeration unit.
LOW VOLTAGE POWER SYSTEM FOR A TRANSPORT REFRIGERATION UNIT
A low-voltage system of a transport refrigeration unit (TRU) includes a low-voltage direct current (LVDC) source; and a distribution bus coupled to the LVDC, the distribution bus is coupled to a compressor, at least one condenser, and at least one evaporator.
MEDIUM-TO-HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SYSTEM FOR A TRANSPORT REFRIGERATION UNIT
A high-voltage system for a transport refrigeration unit (TRU) includes a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) source, and a first converter coupling the HVDC source to a distribution bus, the distribution bus is coupled to a compressor, at least one condenser, and at least one evaporator. A distribution bus is coupled to a compressor bus coupled to the compressor, a condenser bus coupled to the at least one condenser, and an evaporator bus coupled to the at least one evaporator.
HEAT PUMP SYSTEM CONTROL METHOD FOR VEHICLE
A heat pump system control method for a vehicle includes a process (A) of operating a compressor of an air conditioner to cool or heat an interior of the vehicle while the vehicle is driving, measuring by a controller initial states of the compressor and a refrigerant based on data detected from a data detector, and monitoring the compressor, a process (B) of determining by the controller whether a current coil temperature of a motor unit provided in the compressor is higher than a coil specification temperature through the process (A) and operating a protection mode; and a process (C) of, when the process (B) is completed, calculating by the controller a slope of a coil temperature of the motor unit over time, determining whether the temperature slope is greater than zero (0) three times consecutively to stop the operation of the compressor, and terminating control.
Temperature adjustment circuit
A temperature adjustment circuit for a vehicle includes a first temperature adjustment circuit for vehicle interior air conditioning or heating, a second temperature adjustment circuit that is configured to transfer heat with a battery, a connection path that is configured to connect the first temperature adjustment circuit and the second temperature adjustment circuit to form a connection circuit, and a first valve and a second valve that are configured to switch between an independent state where the first temperature adjustment circuit and the second temperature adjustment circuit are independent and a connection state where the connection circuit is formed.
Desiccant bag spacer and cage
A spacer for a body of a refrigerant tank—such as a modulator—in an automotive HVAC device is provided. In embodiments, the spacer is flexible to enable it to be inserted into the modulator, and expanded out against the walls of the modulator when released therein. The spacer inhibits a desiccant bag from contacting the inner wall of the modulator, namely the location where a hole (e.g., for an inlet or outlet) is provided. The spacer can be a cage that surrounds a lower portion of the desiccant bag. And end of the desiccant bag can wrap around a flange of the cage, and be attached to the flange by mechanical fastening (e.g., through a slot), or by welding, or other means.
Prime mover load control on multi-speed generator set
A generator set for a transport climate control unit is provided that is operable at a first frequency and a second frequency. The generator set includes a generator, a prime mover configured to operate at a first non-zero speed and a second non-zero speed that is less than the first non-zero speed, and a genset controller configured to control operation of the generator set. When operating at the first non-zero speed, the genset controller is configured to monitor a prime mover load parameter to determine whether the prime mover is approaching or has exceeded an overload or stall situation. The genset controller is configured to reduce the speed of the prime mover from the first non-zero speed to the second non-zero speed to prevent the overload or stall situation.
