UPPER VEHICLE-BODY STRUCTURE FOR VEHICLE

An upper vehicle-body structure includes a cover that fits in an opening in a roof panel of a vehicle; a sunroof device that moves the cover between a one position in the opening and another position out of the opening; and a deflector which extends in a vehicle width direction along a front end edge portion of the sunroof device and is shifted to an upper position above the opening in a case that an opening operation of the cover is performed. The deflector includes plural raised walls having upper end portions and plural recesses which are alternately disposed with the raised walls in the vehicle width direction, each recess extending in a vehicle front-rear direction, and blocking wall portions protruding to a height not lower than the upper end portions of the raised walls are respectively provided in rear end portions of the plural recesses.

A roof module for a vehicle roof of a passenger vehicle includes a module frame which includes a front module frame transverse element, a rear module frame transverse element, a first lateral module frame longitudinal element, and a second lateral module frame longitudinal element, where the first and the second lateral module frame longitudinal elements connect the front and the rear module frame transverse elements to each other. A cover element is mounted on the module frame. The front module frame transverse element is a first shell element and the first shell element is connectable to a second shell element of a roof frame of the vehicle roof. When the first shell element is connected to the second shell element they together form a roof crossmember of the vehicle roof which encloses a cavity.

A vehicle fluid controller to be applied to a vehicle. The vehicle fluid controller includes a jet generator, a wind detector, and a jet controller. The jet generator is configured to generate a jet of air and is disposed at an edge of a vehicle-body opening through which a vehicle cabin of the vehicle is allowed to be open to an outside of the vehicle. The wind detector is configured to detect a speed and a direction of wind acting on the vehicle body of the vehicle. The jet controller is configured to control the jet from the jet generator in accordance with the speed and the direction of the wind in such a manner as to disturb an airflow passing over the vehicle-body opening along a surface of the vehicle body.

Wind deflector assembly

A wind deflector assembly includes a flexible wind deflecting material attached by a lower connecting part to a stationary part and by an upper connecting part to an upper elongate member to keep the flexible wind deflecting material taut in at least an effective position. The flexible wind deflecting material comprises a frontal part extending substantially along the front of a roof opening and further a lateral part extending from the frontal part to an end part of the flexible wind deflecting material near a hinge member. The flexible wind deflecting material comprises a first area having a first weaving density and at least a second area having a second weaving density. The second area is shaped as a strip and extends at least partly in the frontal part and in the lateral part and is bound by flexible wind deflecting material having a different weaving density.

Open roof construction for a vehicle and wind deflector assembly

An open roof construction for a vehicle comprises a panel for a roof opening and a wind deflector assembly positioned at the front edge of the roof opening. The wind deflector assembly is provided with a substantially rigid upper frame member extending at least along the front edge. A flexible member connects with an upper edge to said upper frame member and with a lower edge to a stationary part. The upper frame member is movable by an operating mechanism between a lower, inactive position and at least two upper, active positions. Tensioning members keep the flexible member taut over in all active positions, and is provided with a substantially rigid, elongate lower frame member at its lower edge. The lower frame member connects to the stationary part through the tensioning members having a maximum tension force which is substantially lower than a maximum operating force of the operating mechanism.

A wind deflection assembly includes a golf cart that has a roof and a driver's seat. A deflector is provided which has an angled portion forming an angle with a mounting portion. The mounting portion is positionable against the roof having the angled portion angling downwardly from the roof. The deflector is comprised of a rigid material thereby facilitating the angled portion to deflect wind downwardly when the golf cart is in motion. Additionally, the deflector is aligned with the driver's seat such that the angled portion directs the wind onto a driver of the golf cart to cool the driver.
