The adaptor may be used in endoscopy methods and is particularly useful for adding a secondary gas source in an endoscopy procedure.

A transfer element disposed on the first or second coupling element and inserted into a third recess on the other coupling element is configured to transfer data, signals and/or energy between the first and second coupling elements.
