The seal member includes an interior surface defining a hermetic cavity. The plurality of electronic components are positioned within the hermetic cavity. The seal member further includes an exterior surface and a wall extending between the interior surface and the exterior surface. The seal member further includes a plurality of connectors within the wall. Each connector of the plurality of connectors is configured to electrically connect with one or more electronic components of the plurality of electronic components.

The present disclosure relates to an endotherapy camera coupler. The coupler may detachably couple an endotherapy eyepiece cap to a camera and may support a drape for covering the camera. In one example, the coupler comprises an optically transmissible and liquid impermeable member configured to be arranged in an optical path between the eyepiece cap and the camera, a base holding the optically transmissible and liquid impermeable member in the optical path, a receiving portion for the eyepiece cap, wherein the receiving portion comprises a base-side receiving portion configured to receive the eyepiece cap along an insertion path extending in one direction, and a liquid barrier provided in the receiving portion and configured for hindering or preventing liquid from entering between the eyepiece cap and the optically transmissible and liquid impermeable member when the eyepiece cap is coupled to the camera. An instrument port includes a port body, a bulb disposed at the distal end of the port body, a base body disposed at the proximal end of the port body, a hollow cylindrical body mechanically coupled to the base body, and a plurality of connecting rods disposed parallel to the port body. Each connecting rod includes a distal rod portion that is mechanically coupled to a respective distal-facing exterior surface of a bulb flange and a proximal rod portion that is mechanically coupled to a respective proximal-facing surface of the base body. A spring applies a spring force against the port body to press the port body into the bulb to mechanically secure the bulb to the base body.

The communication apparatus can include a user console in communication with a communication device having a surgical tool. The communication device can include a microphone to convert a sound input into an acoustic input signal. The communication device can transmit the acoustic input signal to the user console for reproduction as a sound output for a remote operator. The surgical tool can include an endoscope having several microphones mounted on a housing. The surgical tool can be a sterile barrier having a microphone and a drape. The microphone(s) of the surgical tools can face a surrounding environment such that a tableside staff is a source of the sound input that causes the sound output, and a surgeon and the tableside staff can communicate in a noisy environment. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

The invention relates to a medical sensor system with a probe sheath with a sheath distal end configured for insertion through an insertion opening into a lumen of a patient. A pressure signal channel between the sheath ends contains a pressure sensor at the sheath distal end configured to measure pressure in the pressure signal channel and produce a corresponding pressure measurement signal. A sheath retraction mechanism portion of the probe sheath has: i. an extended sheath configuration wherein the sheath distal end extends through the insertion opening into the lumen and encloses the pressure measurement sensor in physical isolation from the lumen, and ii. a retracted sheath configuration wherein the sheath distal end is longitudinally retracted back from the lumen towards the insertion opening so as to expose at least a portion of the pressure measurement sensor to the lumen.
